We’re lucky to have the vibrant Esquimalt Farmers Market just steps away from our studio, happening every Thursday afternoon in Memorial Park.
It’s the perfect mid-week pause to step outside, support local growers and makers, and enjoy everything the season has to offer. From fresh produce and baked goods to handmade crafts and local treats, the market brings together an amazing mix of community talent and small businesses.
If you’re nearby on a Thursday, it’s well worth a stroll through the park — a great way to connect with the community and recharge outdoors.
See you at the market! 🌱

Our proposed Rockland Hotel was featured in yesterday’s CTV news feature on the growing need for hotels in Greater Victoria 🎥 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIMiE4pZHwI

This boutique 30-unit hotel is thoughtfully designed to fit within the character of the Rockland neighbourhood while contributing to the city’s evolving hospitality landscape. With tourism demand continuing to rise, projects like this play an important role in supporting local businesses, visitors, and the broader economy.

The proposed project transforms a neglected site into a compact, context-sensitive addition to the neighbourhood—demonstrating how infill architecture can contribute to renewal, sustainability, and the evolving urban life of Victoria.

Currently moving through the City approval process, the Rockland Hotel is envisioned as a refined, small-scale destination offering a unique and intimate guest experience — a contrast to larger, conventional hotel formats.

We’re pleased to be working with Cube Project Management and excited to bring this project to life. 🏗️

It’s rewarding to see the new fire hall already making a positive impact for the firefighters who serve the community. We’re grateful to have been part of creating a facility that supports their important work every day.

Afternoon.

One of the questions we get asked is "How do you like your new fire hall"

This is a great question and its worth sharing an answer to...first off we are eternally grateful to our community for investing into this for us and has been a welcome addition to our daily lives as firefighters.

Here are some highlights that we appreciate...
🚒 5 Showers where our members can wash up after a fire.
🚒 Turnout Gear Washing Machine and cleaning area.
🚒 Turnout gear room where we can store our PPE and related items.
🚒 Office space, training room where all our members can meet together.
🚒 Break out meeting room where we can hold separate training sessions or meetings.
🚒 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus filling room with areas to wash, and decontaminate related items.
🚒 Dorm Space (4 bedrooms) which 2 are occupied by our Work Experience Program Firefighters (11 month program). Having our WEP Firefighters has increased the amount of firefighters we have available to respond to calls, which has allowed us to get more trucks on the road to answer calls.
🚒 Kitchen and Day Room areas has allowed us to host meals with our members for training and other functions.
🚒 Space for all our apparatus and the Wildland Trailer.

All the things listed above are all things that we never had before that has greatly improved our ability to prepare, train, and respond to calls.

We cannot thank our community enough for your support and generosity over the past year and we are so very proud to serve you all. If you are in the area, and want a tour, stop by M to F 8am to 4pm.

Thank you all so much!

Inspired by the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing technology and innovation in the construction industry — including the promotion of modular housing built from local sources — Studio PA is taking action.

We’ve met with Members of Parliament and their representatives, as well as a Council member from the City of Victoria, to discuss a growing concern: prolonged and increasingly complex municipal approval processes.

Studio PA has also reached out to BC’s Minister of Housing and Federal MPs for Esquimalt—Saanich—Sooke, the Hon. Stephanie McLean, and Victoria’s MP Will Greaves to share our perspective.

As architects, we believe in thoughtful design, responsible development, and collaboration — but we also believe that delivering housing efficiently is critical to addressing today’s challenges.

We look forward to continued conversations and meaningful progress toward a more streamlined, innovative, and responsive approval process.
