From a tired 1990s kitchen and dark family room to a bright, contemporary family hub. This newly refreshed “heart of the home” is designed for everything from morning coffee, meal prep, after-school catchups, and effortless entertaining in stylish comfort.
Great design begins with a solid foundation, so we started by fixing the structural issues. Alexandra Graham Interiors then reworked the kitchen layout:
▫️ New island in replacement of the peninsula
▫️ White slim shaker cabinetry + pullout pantry, extending built-in storage
▫️ Integrated hood + hidden coffee station creating a clean look
▫️ Classic white subway tile + warm wood shelving providing beautiful display options
A new skylight floods the kitchen with natural light and additional pot lights in the kitchen and family room add pleasant interior lighting. The ceiling also boasts a smooth finish, with the dated textural application a thing of the past.
Light oak flooring now runs seamlessly throughout the main floor for a fresh, cohesive look while in the family room, the old wood stove was replaced with a minimalist gas fireplace set in shiplap with a rustic floating mantel. We also reworked the back wall, swapping windows and French doors creating better flow within the space and out to the backyard.
Outside: a new paving stone walkway and patio with a gas fire pit completing the space.
This home is now bright, functional and ready for everyday life.
