“The world is a better place with youth in it.” ❤️

An evening of connection, conversation, and community at the House of Distinction, all in support of something that matters: creating a brighter future for young people in Greater Victoria.
Surrounded by a beautiful setting and people who care, the evening brought together supporters of Souper Bowls of Hope and the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society (VYES), united by a shared belief that every young person deserves safety, support, and the opportunity to shape their own future.

Because supporting youth isn’t just about responding when things go wrong. It’s about showing up, creating opportunities, and making sure young people know their community is there for them.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this evening meaningful and continues to support the work VYES does in our community.

Together, we can make a difference. 🥣

How do we actually make a difference?

There isn’t just one way.

You can contribute.
You can volunteer.
You can raise funds.
You can donate food or clothing.
You don’t have to make a huge donation in order to make an impact.

$10 helps provide a warm meal.
$25 can help stock a shelf with groceries and pantry staples.
$50 can help provide a welcome kit for a young person arriving at the shelter.
$75 can help fill a backpack with school supplies.

And support can also help a young person take the next step, from hands-on work experience to getting ID, work clothes, transit and certifications to become work-ready.

For Mike, having someone believe in him when he was 14 made a difference in the direction his life took.

That’s why Flintstones Pro is proud to pledge $25,000 to Souper Bowls of Hope this year.

Now we’re asking our Victoria community to join us.
Whatever you can give, however you choose to help, there’s a place for you in this.
Sometimes making a difference starts with something as simple as saying, “I’m here for you. I’m going to support you. Let’s do this together.”

Your home has a way of telling you when something isn’t quite right. The trick is knowing when to act.

Water where it shouldn’t be.
Cracks or deterioration.
Drafts or moisture.
Repairs that don’t last.
Parts of your home that simply aren’t working like they used to.

These can all be signs that a small issue may be pointing to something bigger.

On a recent Saanich exterior renovation, what began as an outdoor upgrade uncovered significant rot, moisture issues and extensive ant damage caused by problems with the roof and siding.

Rather than a band-aid solution for the symptoms, the Flintstones Pro team addressed the underlying structural issues — creating a lasting solution while still delivering the beautiful outdoor spaces the homeowners wanted.

PRO-active means looking beyond the surface.

Swipe through for 5 signs it may be time to take a closer look at your home.

Don’t wait for a small problem to become a big project.
Be PRO-active.

When should we start supporting vulnerable youth?
Now.

Because waiting until a young person reaches a crisis point means waiting too long.

Youth Food Pantry visits through the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society have increased by approximately 140% compared with the same period last year, a reminder that food insecurity and the need for community support are happening right now.

There are many ways to help create change. Donate. Volunteer. Raise funds. Give food or clothing. Show up for the organizations supporting young people in our community.
And on October 29, you can join us at Souper Bowls of Hope at the Union Club in Victoria, BC.

Flintstones Pro is pledging $25,000 towards the fundraiser, and we’re asking our community to help support, in any way possibleus take that support even further.

You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment to make a difference.

Start now. ❤️

🏡 Your home might be trying to tell you something. Are you listening?

From recurring moisture and changing cracks to drafty windows and deteriorating exterior materials, the signs of a bigger problem aren’t always obvious at first.

The key? Be PRO-active before a small concern becomes a bigger project.

Not every warning sign calls for a major renovation, but knowing when to investigate, and when to call in a professional, can make all the difference.

🔨 Don’t ignore the signs. Let’s get to the root of the problem.

WHERE
Where does this kind of support matter?
Right here.
In Victoria, BC. In our neighbourhoods. In the community where we live, work and raise our families.
The need for youth support isn’t somewhere far away. Young people across Greater Victoria are dealing with homelessness, food insecurity, housing instability and difficult circumstances right now.
That’s why local action matters.
The Victoria Youth Empowerment Society supports more than 1,000 youth and family members every year, with programs across the Capital Regional District and expanding into the Gulf Islands.
On October 29, our community has an opportunity to come together at Souper Bowls of Hope and help fund that work.
Flintstones Pro is proud to pledge $25,000 to the event because creating positive change starts with showing up for the community around us.

Who are we doing this for?
We’re doing it for young people in our Victoria, BC community who may not have a safe place to go, enough food, stable housing or the support they need.

VYES supports youth ages 12 to 24 and their families through free programs focused on safety, stability and connection. That includes emergency shelter, food support, housing assistance and wellness programs.

More than 1,000 youth and family members receive support every year.

Sometimes, having somewhere safe to go, someone to listen and someone who believes in you can be the beginning of a completely different future.

That’s why we’re coming together for Souper Bowls of Hope.
Because every young person deserves the opportunity to shape their own future.

Let’s show our youth that their community is here for them.

What is Souper Bowls of Hope?

It’s more than a night of great food. It’s a Victoria, BC community fundraiser supporting the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society and the free programs they provide to vulnerable youth and families.

Last year, VYES provided more than 3,100 meals and snacks through the Alliance Club, 145 emergency youth shelter stays, and housing support that helped 50 young people maintain their housing.

Those numbers represent real people. Real young people. Real opportunities to change direction.

That’s why Flintstones Pro is pledging $25,000 to Souper Bowls of Hope. We’re also asking local businesses, organizations and community members to get involved.

When we invest in youth, we help build a stronger Victoria community.

Natural light and a contemporary interior now floods this 1956 Fernwood home. By removing a few key walls, this space gained flexibility that wasn’t previously possible, with unrestricted flow between the living room and kitchen and a newly exposed staircase to amplify the open space.

This contemporary interior includes upgraded millwork around the fireplace, minimal fixtures integrated with the existing home, a new bathroom, structural alterations, and an open-plan kitchen complete with a breakfast bar and views of the backyard.

Sometimes, the help you receive when you’re young stays with you for the rest of your life.

For Mike, a safe place, food, support and hope gave him the opportunity to change direction when he was just 14 years old.
Years later, he’s in a position to give that support forward.
Sharing what happened to him isn’t easy. But Mike is telling his story because he knows firsthand what it can mean when someone steps in, believes in you and gives you an opportunity to build a different future.

That’s what makes this such a full-circle moment.

The Victoria Youth Empowerment Society was there for Mike when he needed them. Today, he and the team at Flintstones Pro are helping support the next generation of young people in our community.

Flintstones Pro is proud to pledge $25,000 to Souper Bowls of Hope, with the hope of inspiring our community to help bring that total to $50,000 by October 29.

Because change happens when we come together. And sometimes, the support we give today can change the course of someone’s entire future.

If Mike’s story resonates with you, get involved. Donate, volunteer, raise funds, or simply help spread the word.

❤️ Let’s support our youth. Let’s support our community. Let’s be the change.
