Big day for the trades community. 💪🛠️
Yesterday we took part in what you could call a Construction & demolition Kick off ceremony for The Forge Recovery Centre — an incredible new initiative by the Construction Foundation of BC dedicated to supporting mental health, recovery, and wellness for people in the construction and trades industry.
This project means a lot.
Construction is a tough industry — physically and mentally — and The Forge will be a safe place where tradespeople can find support, connection, and help when they need it most.
We’re proud to stand alongside an amazing group of contractors and community partners making it happen:
đź‘· General Contractor: Durwest Construction Management
đźšś Demolition: NAN Site Servicing LTD
🏗️ Civil: Allterra Construction Ltd
🔨 Framing: Ron Anderson & Sons
🏠Roofing: Parker Johnston Industries
♻️ Demo waste hauling & disposal: DL Bins
…and many more community supporters stepping up to help.
Proud of our crew for getting the demo rolling and being part of something bigger than just another job site.
Previous Mayor Stew Young and one of the biggest pushers for this project Mike Manhas and a recent gentleman who went through the recovery program who is is 164 days sober got to take the first swings at the building.
