Almost forgot to apply the reflective marking tape to the ramp. Got that applied just before the clients arrived to pick up their trailer. They were ecstatic with the final product and said "the horses will love it!" I'm very appreciative and grateful for their business and that they trusted me to build what they needed. Glad that I could help this wonderful couple out to make the usability of their horse trailer, better.

Thanks to Mike Hill and his son Tristan for helping me get this 200+ lb ramp in place on the back of the trailer. Have the top side welded on, and the rest will get finished tomorrow. Lincoln Electric Canada

Here's the mock-up of the ramp on the trailer. It fits and functions beautifully (springs aren't installed yet). It's only tack welded together here. Good thing the owners decided to go with four helper springs because this thing easily weighs 200 lbs!

Today's progress on the ramp. Tomorrow will be the 3/16" sheet(s) and the hinges. It doesn't look like much but this took me 8 hrs today alone.

Here is the start of my next project. This will be a ramp built for the back of a horse trailer. The trailer is aluminum so this will be as well. The materials will be 2"x2"x0.188" (3/16") square tube for the main structure of the ramp. The part that the horses will walk on will be 0.188" sheet and the outside will have a thin sheet of aluminum just to close it in on the outside (when the ramp is folded up). The ramp will be 4.5' long by 7.5' wide.

I was tired of kicking my Hypertherm North America Powermax 45 plasma cutter around the shop on the floor. So I came up with a design for a wall mount for it. It's cut using the plasma cutter from 1/8" 6061 aluminum and TIG welded with 4043 filler using my Lincoln Electric Precision TIG 225. This was my first time welding aluminum in I don't know how long. It's been a long time. I'm very happy with how it turned out and was able to incorporate a storage compartment for the consumables as well as the circle burner attachment.
