We got to connect with housing partners at last week’s BC Non-Profit Housing Association R.E.N.T conference in Kelowna, and across the board, uncertainty was top of mind.
With recent changes to the BC government budget, organizations building housing with public funding are facing a new reality. Less funding. More pressure to deliver. And a real need to rethink how projects get planned and built.
Jason Friesen heard loud and clear that people doing this work:
• Need certainty in what their projects are going to cost
• Are focused on reducing the risk of overages and change orders
• Will retool their approach to meet project objectives with tighter budgets
This is the new reality for teams trying to deliver housing that people are counting on.
We came away with a much clearer understanding of where things stand right now and how modular is well-positioned to meet these needs. If you attended, what was your key takeaway?
