Field and Shop Technician

Selectest Services Inc, or SSI, is based in Whitecourt, Alberta. Our work takes us all over Alberta and into parts of British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

Job Summary: We are seeking a Field/Shop Technician to join our team to assist in underground / aboveground tank testing, hose testing, leak detection, and shop calibrations, along with general shop duties when needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site testing for our clients and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, moderate computer skills, be able to work independently, or with a small crew, and have a strong technical background, oilfield process is an asset but not a requirement.

Responsibilities:
•You will be responsible for driving to and from multiple sites around Alberta, andoccasionally Saskatchewan and BC.
•Working out of town often.
•Being able to work both as a team and alone once trained.
•Helping in our other departments when necessary (Cal/Rental Bay, Shop).
•Complete your own test reports and field tickets with provided laptop.

Physical Demands:
The Field Service Technician must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, be okay with repetitive motion, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods of time. The position may require working at heights and may involve exposure to hazardous materials or environments which includes working with an SCBA/SABA occasionally.

Requirements:
•Clean drivers abstract
•Current H2S and First Aid Safety Tickets
•Comfortable working with computers

Salary & Benefits:
•Competitive Wages ($50-$80K a year)

The guys have been busy with hose testing! Does your facility have hoses that need annual pressure testing? We can help with that! We have a mobile trailer that we can bring right to site or we can test them here in our field bay. We can test a variety of sizes of hoses up to 10,000psi. With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our senior lead field technician Robert Edelman. Robert was a loyal employee to the company for 14+ years and we are going to miss his invaluable experience and friendly presence around the shop.
