Our team consists of 24 high school students and 13 mentors. The team is divided into five sections: Mechanical, Electrical, Programming, Public Relations, and Communications. The Mechanical, Electrical and Programming sections work together to build a robot that can complete the task assigned to us in January. The Public Relations section raises money through fundraising efforts, contacts sponsor

The Communications section designs the website, creates an animation based on the task given, produces flyers and documents our team’s progress with pictures and videos. Our team is one of over 4000 teams worldwide, ours being currently the only one in Essex County. The Sabre Bytes attend two to three district competitions each year, in Canada. If our team wins a regional competition, we have the opportunity to attend the World Championships which is held this year in St. Louis, Missouri.

From April 29-May 2nd, our team had an incredible time competing at the World Championships in the Johnson Divison! From exciting matches to exploring the event and meeting teams from across the world, it was an unforgettable few days filled with learning, collaboration, and inspiration. We are so grateful for everyone who made this journey possible. Thank you to our students for their countless hours of dedication, our teachers and mentors for their guidance and countless hours of support, our parents for always being there for us, and our sponsors for making this opportunity a reality. We’re so proud of what we accomplished this season and can’t wait to take what we’ve learned into BioCore next season!

Next week, Team 772 from Sandwich Secondary, LaSalle is headed to the World Championships in Houston Texas. We are currently ranked 29th in the district and are heading up as one of 21 teams from Canada representing 3% of the teams qualified and the only team from SouthWest Ontario. Our students are ready to represent our community and country but need our community to help bridge the financial gap to get there. Your support ensures that every one of our students who earned their spot through hours of hard work is able to attend. Please consider donating through this link available in our bio as well (https://gofund.me/493c506ef) and share with as many people as possible.

From Niagara Falls to the world stage!!

What an unforgettable experience at the Ontario Provincials in Niagara Falls! Our team was incredibly proud to be selected as the second pick for Alliance 2 alongside our amazing partners ( ). Competing together, we pushed our limits and fought our way all the way to the Science Division Finals.
As well, we are deeply honored to have received the FIRST Impact Award at the provincial level. This recognition reflects the passion our team brings not only to engineering, but to inspiring our community, mentoring others, and growing the future of STEM.
We’re grateful for every mentor, volunteer, and supporter who helped make this journey possible, memories we’ve built along the way.
Next stop: World Championships!! We’re excited to represent our community on the global stage next week and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
