Yes you should blow out your equipment on in a while. Excessive dirt can case overheat or worse. In a welding shop many time this dirt inside equipment is metallic and can cause a short circuit. Be sure only qualified personnel work on your equipment

Just another day at the shop

Electrical tape was trying to hide the problem. Something just didn’t seem right, The wires being clamped in the wrong way cauded a hidden problem. After inspection we see the black wire was on hanging on by just a couple strands.

Even when a good quality primary power plug is installed it should be done by a qualified professional or at the least someone who can read the installation instructions.

These 230 volt plugs are pure junk. Customers electrician just installed it, wires are still loose when clamps tightened completely and in this case the electrician decided to have the clamp screws facing each other while pressing on the ground cable, a shot is waiting to happen.

Good thing this 211 was still under warranty
Needed the wind tunnel and circuit board. Over the last 37 years of repairing welding equipment Miller Electric has always been the best company to work with.

Replacement boards for this unit no longer available, needed an SCR but being an older unit the SCR was also no longer available. Took the board to Don a local audiophile who has plenty vintage electronic parts. $80 later he repaired the board for me and the weld was welding again.

Under all these parts is the output IGBT’s, unfortunately after changing the IGBT assembly we also needed the main control, was expected but hoping the board was OK
