That's a wrap on two fantastic weeks of training at our office here in Winnipeg!

Our Introductory course participants got hands-on with the RTDS Simulator and RSCAD® FX, building and running power system cases, setting up closed-loop relay testing, and automating simulations. The following week, our Advanced Applications group took a deep dive into protection, automation, and control, working through hardware-in-the-loop exercises covering IEC 61850, PMUs, SCADA protocols, and cybersecurity.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and to our expert trainers for sharing their knowledge. Both courses were fully booked, and the energy in the room was fantastic all week long! 👏

A major milestone for power system research. ⚡

Supporting the UTOPYS program and a national effort to develop advanced energy system digital twins, this new infrastructure will help researchers explore the challenges of tomorrow's grid, from renewable integration and grid stability to cyber resilience and advanced control strategies.

A few highlights from Team Timestep's Great Cycle Challenge! 🚴

This August, Team Timestep participated in the Great Cycle Challenge in support of the SickKids Foundation, committing to ride (or spin) throughout the month to raise awareness and funds for kids' cancer.

With the support of our riders, donors, and the AMETEK Foundation's matching contribution, Team Timestep raised $4,349.43 and logged 2,277 km over the course of the challenge.

Thank you to everyone who cycled, donated, volunteered, and cheered us on along the way. Together, we made a meaningful contribution to an important cause while enjoying some great rides and a couple of well-earned ice cream stops. 🍦
