To all who helped us raise $5300 for Avalon Sexual Assault Centre's counseling program in 2012, I thought you might be grateful to know part of the impact that likely had. Her family has publicly revealed that by that time, Rehteah Parsons was a client there, in the counseling program. I like to imagine it brought her, and others, some much-needed peace and validation in those horrible months.
Normally you'd never know who you're helping in an area as stigmatized as sexual assault. You won't always see the heartwarming stories. Know that you made a major impact anyhow. You helped.
