💬 ASK THE PARTS TEAM – Week 4
WHEN EQUIPMENT IS DOWN, EVERY HOUR MATTERS.

Can you tell me about a time when our Parts Department helped reduce costly downtime?

We've had customers call with critical equipment sitting idle, where every hour of downtime meant lost production.

When that happens, our Parts team doesn't work alone.

We work directly with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and shipping to identify the right part, prioritize the order, and keep the customer informed throughout the process.

Our goal is simple:
Get the right part into the customer's hands as quickly as possible so they can get back to work.

Because when critical equipment is down, every hour matters.

Welcome to our new Ask the Parts Team series, where we answer common questions about OEM parts, equipment maintenance, and keeping your operation running.

Would you trust a $20 aftermarket part to protect a million-dollar machine?
It's a question worth asking.

When you've invested that much in your equipment, saving a few dollars on a critical replacement part isn't worth the risk.

Genuine OEM parts are engineered to fit correctly, perform as intended, and help protect the equipment you've already invested in. Lower-quality or poorly fitting replacement parts can lead to premature wear, unexpected failures, and costly downtime.

The lowest purchase price isn't always the lowest operating cost.
When reliability matters, trust the parts designed specifically for your equipment.

One Mine Vehicle. Endless Possibilities.
Many underground mines rely on fleets of dedicated utility vehicles—one for ANFO loading, another for personnel transport, another for lifting, another for fueling, and so on.

The result?
• Higher capital costs
• More maintenance
• More downtime
• More emissions
• More equipment competing for valuable underground space

Timberland's MINEJACK® Cassette System offers a smarter approach.
Built around a rugged, purpose-designed prime mover, the MINEJACK® Cassette System transforms one vehicle into multiple purpose-built machines by simply changing cassettes. In minutes, the same carrier is ready to perform an entirely different task—keeping your fleet lean while maximizing equipment utilization.

Available cassettes include:
✔️ ANFO Loader
✔️ Scissor Lift
✔️ Personnel Carrier
✔️ Fuel & L**e
✔️ Crane
✔️ Shotcrete
✔️ Maintenance
✔️ Water Sprayer/Tank
…and more.

Why it matters:
• Reduce fleet size
• Lower total cost of ownership
• Increase equipment utilization
• Reduce maintenance costs and spare parts inventory
• Minimize downtime between tasks
• Reduce ventilation requirements and underground emissions
• Improve productivity across your operation

One vehicle. Multiple missions. Maximum return on investment.

Investing in Safety. Delivering Service Worldwide.
Providing world-class service means our technicians are always prepared—whether they're working in an underground mine or on an offshore platform.

This past week, Timberland's service technicians and one of our engineers completed their OGUK Offshore Medical along with OPITO BOSIET and HUET training to maintain their offshore safety certifications.

The OGUK Offshore Medical confirms personnel are medically fit to work in the demanding offshore environment.

BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) is the industry-standard certification required before working on an offshore installation. It covers essential emergency response skills, including sea survival, firefighting, first aid, and helicopter safety.

HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) prepares personnel for emergency helicopter ditching scenarios, teaching them how to safely evacuate a submerged aircraft and use survival equipment.

For some, it was their first time. For others, it was another day "at the office" being dunked underwater.

Continuous training ensures our team is ready to safely support customers wherever our equipment operates around the world.

Great work, Ron Jozwiak, Dan Gray and Mark Mitchell!

The Engineering Behind Nik Wallenda's Historic Niagara Falls Walk
When Nik Wallenda made his historic high-wire walk over Niagara Falls on June 15, 2012, millions watched the spectacle.

What most people didn't see was the engineering that helped make the crossing possible.

Behind the scenes, a custom-engineered bull wheel traction winch designed and built by Timberland Equipment Limited was used to install and tension the massive steel cable spanning the Niagara Gorge.

The challenge wasn't simply pulling the cable across the Falls. The 1,800-foot span required precise, continuous tension to minimize sag, maintain stability, and withstand the mist and winds surrounding the gorge.

Timberland's specialized tensioning equipment helped:

✔ Pull the seven-tonne steel cable across the Niagara Gorge
✔ Maintain the high-load tension required for the crossing
✔ Safely distribute forces across the wire rope using bull wheel traction technology

The equipment performed so successfully that Timberland's technology was called upon again in 2013 for Wallenda's Skywire Live crossing over the Grand Canyon.

While the world remembers the daredevil, we're proud that a piece of Southwestern Ontario engineering helped support one of the most watched high-wire walks in history.

Designed and built in Woodstock, Ontario.

Modernizing the Grid, One Neighbourhood at a Time.⚡
Yesterday, we visited one of our customers on a distribution line upgrade project in Brampton, Ontario.

The project involved replacing existing 4 kV distribution lines with new 16 kV conductor lines, increasing power capacity and helping meet the growing energy demands of the surrounding community.

To complete the installation, two Timberland Equipment Limited DPT40E Puller/Tensioners were positioned at opposite ends of the street—approximately 600 metres apart—to maintain precise tension control while efficiently pulling the new conductor into place.

It's always rewarding to see our equipment helping customers complete critical infrastructure projects that strengthen the electrical grid and support reliable power delivery for years to come.
