🚁 Project Spotlight | Suswa, Kenya

Our team recently completed a high-precision topographic survey for KeNHA in Suswa, using our new LiDAR L2.

With dense vegetation and steep terrain presenting challenges for conventional surveying, UAV LiDAR allowed us to efficiently capture detailed ground information across difficult-to-access areas.

The LiDAR L2 allowed us to efficiently capture detailed terrain data, penetrating through dense vegetation to help reveal the underlying ground surface while safely covering steep and difficult-to-access areas.

From the captured data, we can generate:

🔹 High-density point clouds
🔹 Accurate terrain models
🔹 Detailed contours
🔹 Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)
🔹 Detailed topographic maps

We have successfully concluded a comprehensive topographic and bathymetric survey of the Mara River, capturing critical data on river length, channel width, depths, cross-sections, elevations and surrounding terrain.

From challenging terrain to working along the river itself, our team put in the fieldwork to deliver accurate, reliable spatial data for informed planning, engineering and development.

A day in the field at SkyMap Africa. 🌍📍

Meet the DJI Matrice 350 RTK + Zenmuse L2 LiDAR. 🚁

Built for professional surveying and mapping, the M350 RTK is a rugged, high-performance drone designed to take on demanding field conditions. Paired with the Zenmuse L2 LiDAR sensor, it takes aerial surveying to another level.

LiDAR uses laser pulses to measure the distance between the sensor and the ground, allowing us to capture highly detailed 3D information about terrain, structures and the environment—even where vegetation and difficult terrain can make conventional surveying challenging.
