In this month’s edition of MLB: The Leadership Edit, we are honored to feature two remarkable women whose voices are shaping the present and future of binational leadership through global vision and sustainable development:

▶️ Daniella Plata, MPA, Director of International Relations for the City of McAllen, TX , presents “Women on the Global Stage”, a powerful reflection on the essential role women play in democracy, diplomacy, geopolitics, and global economics. From citizen diplomacy to international crisis leadership, Daniella highlights how women are not only participating in history — they are leading it with empathy, resilience, and transformative influence.

▶️ Myriam Vidaly Becerra García, Project Manager – Border Affairs, Intergovernmental Relations Division at TCEQ Compliance Service, shares “Beyond Nearshoring: Sustainable Finance and the Next Stage of Mexico–U.S. Development”, an insightful analysis of how sustainability, ESG, and governance are redefining the way economic growth is financed across the border. Her column reminds us that the future of development depends not only on opportunity, but on resilience, transparency, and long-term regional well-being.
