🚀 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗥 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗗𝗔 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆

We are thrilled to announce the publication of our peer-reviewed data examining the impact of sampling flow rates for total particle counting in Grade A aseptic environments.

This is a major milestone for the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Biofluorescent particle counters that deliberately avoid using a concentrator (virtual impactor) to prevent missing contamination due to its associated losses can now also be used as total particle counters.

Our latest study provides scientific substantiation for this: under homogeneous, unidirectional airflow conditions (Grade A and comparable B environments), a lower sampling flow rate, such as 2.83 L/min, delivers total particle monitoring performance comparable to 28.3 L/min, a rate codified in the latest Annex 1 independently of recent advances in direct sampling technology.

These findings support the adoption of BFPC technology to enable safer, more efficient, and simultaneous monitoring of viable and total particles in critical Grade A zones, fully aligning with Annex 1's objective of improved patient safety.

🌟 Another successful Rapid-C+ User Interest Group Annual Meeting! 🌟

Over two days in Geneva and Annecy, leaders from across the pharmaceutical industry (including manufacturers, microbiologists, engineers, quality professionals, and innovators) came together to shape the future of continuous environmental monitoring based on real-time viable monitoring.

Our international audience dove deep into the latest advancements in BFPC technology, transforming vision into implementation:

- 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 supporting equivalence with traditional air samplers and particle counting;
- 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗖𝗦 and decision making;
- 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 and advanced algorithms in contamination control;

Rapid-C+, our real-time air microbial detector, enables simultaneous viable and total particle counting. Together with real-time optical analysis, it integrates the certified active air sampler C-Catch for continuous air sampling for identification.

When using the traditional method for microbial air sampling, there is always a probability that two or more viable microorganisms enter the same hole, resulting in a single Colony-Forming Unit (CFU) instead of two.

Named the “Coincidence Error”, this phenomenon can affect the accuracy of your results. The Feller Conversion Table provides a statistical adjustment to account for the probability that multiple viable particles enter the same hole.

At Plair SA, we have integrated this correction tool directly into our PlairGrid dashboard, allowing you to apply it instantly within the interface when using C-Catch of Rapid-C+.
