We’re proud to see Avolites’ iconic FD dimmers featured in this month’s LSI Online magazine as part of their classic gear series. It’s a brilliant look back at a product that helped shape modern touring.

The article dives into how the FD range set a new standard for rugged, tour-ready dimming in the late 70s, with smart design choices that made life easier on the road: compact racks, built-in test controls, reliable cooling, thoughtful patching and flightcase integration. These dimmers became a familiar sight on stages worldwide throughout the 80s and 90s - and paved the way for the Art2000 and everything that followed.

Huge thanks to Rob Halliday and the LSi team for shining a light on this chapter of Avo history, and for celebrating one of the people who helped build the tools behind so many productions we know today.
