🐺 Welcome to WOLFF’s Gorge!

Two WOLFF cranes, one spectacular gorge – and a motorway where traffic must keep moving.

On Austria’s Brenner Motorway, a WOLFF 8060.25 Cross and a WOLFF 8038.20 Clear are helping replace the Sill Bridge near Innsbruck.🏗️ With jib lengths of 80 and 70 meters and lifting capacities of up to 25 and 20 tonnes, the cranes are handling everything from demolition work to the construction of the new bridge.

But getting them into position was a challenge in itself. Steep slopes, limited assembly space, high-voltage power lines and the nearby Innsbruck Airport all had to be considered in the planning.

The project also marks a milestone for our customer Gruppe: its first WOLFF trolley jib cranes!

First WOLFF Crane successfully dismantled at Wigan’s Galleries Redevelopment, UK

The WOLFFKRAN team has successfully dismantled a WOLFF 6020 tower crane at Wigan’s Galleries redevelopment, using a 250-tonne mobile crane.

Supplied to our client, Heyrod Construction, the WOLFF 6020 supported the construction works with its 40-metre jib and 40.5-metre tower height, providing additional lifting capacity and reach.

Another WOLFF crane remains on site: the WOLFF 7532.16 Cross, owned by Heyrod Construction. With a 60-metre jib and a height of 54 metres, it will stay on site until completion of the project.

The cranes are supporting the redevelopment of Wigan town centre, including a new £39.4 million Market Hall and £4.6 million of basement enabling works. The wider £135 million masterplan will create new spaces for retail, leisure, business and housing.

Like open-heart surgery: Two XXL WOLFFs at work in San Francisco 🏗️

Building a new hospital right next to a fully operational one is a challenge in itself. Add extremely limited space, demanding logistics, seismic requirements and strict California regulations – and you have a job that calls for some serious lifting power.

Two WOLFF 1250 B US luffers are playing a key role in the construction of the new UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital in San Francisco. With lifting capacities of up to 40 tonnes, 65-metre jibs and freestanding tower heights of up to 85 metres, the two red giants serve as the site’s primary transportation system.

Among their more unusual jobs: raising 32-tonne steel box columns and even lowering a 38-tonne mobile crane into the basement. And the project has another special twist: once their job is done, one WOLFF will dismantle the other – an operation so rare in California that it required years of advance planning and regulatory approval.
