📌Rising above Riyadh's landscape, three WOLFF 180 B luffing jib cranes are shaping the future of the Wadi Laban crossing. Building two new cable-stayed bridges from the ground up. Reaching hook heights of 157 meters to construct pylons standing nearly 170 meters tall

From formwork and reinforcement to concrete placement, these cranes are handling it all with a lifting capacity of 18 tons, precision-engineered for one of the region's most ambitious infrastructure projects

Once complete, the two bridges will stretch approximately 763 meters each, adding eight traffic lanes to ease congestion on one of Riyadh's key arterial roads. A project reshaping mobility for the capital🏗️

The demolition works at 110 The Queen’s Walk, the former City Hall building in London, have now been successfully completed by Morrisroe Demolition, marking a significant milestone in the redevelopment of the site.

Following the completion of the demolition phase, Mace Construct has taken over the project and commenced the next stage of construction works. To support this new phase, a WOLFF 355 B has been erected on site and is now working alongside the existing crane already in operation.

The redevelopment will retain much of the existing structure, transforming the building into modern office space while reducing embodied carbon, alongside significant improvements to the surrounding public realm.

Designed for sites where space is at a premium, the City Portal elevates the crane above ground level, allowing vehicles to pass safely underneath while maximising the available working area on site.

The WOLFF City Portal CP 690, already supporting projects across Europe and now in operation on its first UK installation in London, raises the crane above ground level to create valuable space underneath. This allows vehicles to pass directly beneath the crane and manoeuvre safely, keeping site logistics moving without compromising precious ground space.

Paired with the WOLFF 275 B, offering lifting capacities of up to 24 tonnes and a 60 m jib, it provides an ideal solution for high-rise and space-constrained city-centre developments.

Congratulations to Jake Davies on winning the Apprentice Mentor of the Year Award at the Construction Plant-hire Association Stars of the Future Awards 2026.

Jake's journey is a fantastic example of dedication, hard work, and growth. He joined WOLFFKRAN 11 years ago as an apprentice electrician and achieved his Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation by the age of 20. Throughout his apprenticeship, he benefited from the guidance of great mentors, inspiring his own passion for supporting and developing others.

Today, Jake leads a team of electricians and is committed to helping the next generation succeed. He has already mentored three apprentices who have progressed within the business and currently supports a second-year apprentice and a newly qualified electrician.

For Jake, mentoring is about more than developing technical skills - it's about leading by example, building confidence, and genuinely caring about people's wellbeing and future success.
