🤖 Exciting news for young innovators worldwide!

and FIRSTGlobal have renewed their partnership to expand global access to hands-on robotics and education. Announced at the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 in Incheon, this collaboration will see FIRSTGlobal provide 60 XRP robotics kits to finalist teams competing in the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Grand Finale at the Global Summit 2027 in Geneva.

The goal is to ensure that every young innovator who competes can keep building, programming and experimenting long after the competition ends, no matter where they come from.

🤖 From real-world challenges to winning AI agent solutions: meet the winners of Build-a-thon 5.0!

Held yesterday at India Mobile Congress in New Delhi, Creating Innovative Agents in 5G brought together students, researchers and professionals to develop solutions for network troubleshooting and resource optimization using the ITU Sandbox.

Teams developed country-specific knowledge bases and AI agents, competing for prizes of up to CHF 700, including a special prize for women-led teams.

🌱 A productive day at the Second Meeting of the Global Initiative on at India Mobile Congress in New Delhi!

International organizations, experts, researchers and came together to advance collaboration on the responsible use of across agri-food systems, organized by , Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Food Programme and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and hosted by ICAR and Department of Telecommunications, Government of India.

Building on the first meeting in Rome, yesterday’s discussions showcased farmer-centric innovation from the Hackathon, explored opportunities for pilot deployment and international collaboration, and defined priorities for the Initiative’s Working Groups.

🤖 The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge India has officially kicked off today in New Delhi!

Welcoming 57 teams from across India, this prestigious Indian National Event of the leading UN-based global competition, organized by ITU and IHFC ITT Delhi, showcases how are harnessing and robotics to tackle one of today’s most critical challenges: health emergencies, a priority championed by World Health Organization (WHO) worldwide.
Taking place at India Mobile Congress, teams are now competing for a chance to represent India at the Grand Finale in Geneva during the Global Summit 2027, with opening remarks by Bilel Jamoussi, Deputy Director of TSB at ITU.

🌐 Global principles on are taking shape, but principles alone aren't enough. What actually turns them into practice?

At the Global Summit 2026, Sergio Mujica (ISO), Philippe Metzger (IEC) and Seizo Onoe (ITU) joined moderator Charlotte Kan to explore how standards can bridge the gap between high-level AI aspirations and real-world implementation. "Don't start from scratch," Metzger said, urging governments to build on standards that already exist rather than reinventing them.

🚀 A great day at the workshop in New Delhi!

At Yashobhoomi, government representatives, researchers, industry leaders and development partners came together to explore how countries can move from strategy to real-world . Keynote by Bilel Jamoussi, Deputy Director of TSB at ITU , and inaugural address by H.E. Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia set the tone for a day of rich discussions on development, public infrastructure, and the role of the AI Sandbox in scaling locally relevant solutions.

A visual AI concept, four years in the making, set out to reflect who we really are as humans.

Rolando Cedeño de la Cruz shared his perspective at the Global Summit 2026 on the concept he created, the result of more than 500 published projects.

He reflected on how AI is accelerating change across politics, law and the environment, and explored what it means to stay human centred as technology takes on repetitive tasks.
