✈️ Set over a single pressured morning in São Paulo, "AVIÃO" follows a father rushing his autistic son to school while already late for work, small acts of dressing, waiting and redirecting revealing the quiet exhaustion behind their routine. A finalist in this year's Film Festival directed by Mohamed Beriky and produced in Brazil in 2026, the film turns on one word the boy repeats after seeing a painted plane on a wall, "plane," dismissed at first, until it resurfaces in traffic and triggers a plane crashing onto the highway before his father, the emotional form of a delayed understanding.

The moment returns, and this time the father responds differently, promising they will see the plane after school, and in the final scene, the painted plane gently lifts from the wall through the child's eyes. Rather than explaining autism directly, AVIÃO explores care, repetition and recognition through silence and return.

⏳ An hourglass stands in a barren landscape: this is "The Choice of Intelligence," this week's shortlisted artwork by Komal Ghazaali from Pakistan.

The upper chamber holds knowledge and technological power used without restraint, pushing the planet toward collapse, but as the grains fall, the story shifts: below, the particles turn into life, a small green ecosystem beginning to grow, a reminder that the same intelligence able to harm the planet can also monitor forests, guide renewable energy, and rebuild damaged ecosystems. The tools and the knowledge already exist. The question is what we will choose before the last grain falls.

The result: real cuts in waste across heavy , with a that keeps improving the more it's used.
