Prochaine date : 14 mars 2026. La Journée de Pi, célébrée le 14 mars, rend hommage à la constante mathématique π, fondamentale en mathématiques. Elle est aujourd’hui célébrée dans le monde entier à travers des activités ludiques et accessibles à tous les publics.

Le Cercle Filles et Maths accueille encore des participantes !

Le Cercle Filles et Maths s’adresse aux jeunes filles scolarisées à Genève, de la 10CO à la 1re année du Secondaire II (13–16 ans), qui ont envie de découvrir les mathématiques en dehors du cadre scolaire, dans un environnement bienveillant.

📌 Bonne nouvelle : Possibilité de rejoindre le cercle en cours de route.
🗓 Les mardis de 17h15 à 19h15 (hors vacances scolaires)

🔍 Concrètement, qu’est-ce qu’on y fait ?

🔹 On explore les mathématiques à travers des activités ludiques
🔹 On part à la découverte des sciences et de la culture (visites, ateliers interactifs, musées, sortie au CERN…)

💡 L’idée du Cercle :
Montrer que les mathématiques ne se réduisent pas aux exercices d’école, mais qu’elles constituent un univers riche, vivant et inventif, où l’on peut expérimenter, imaginer, résoudre des problèmes, découvrir des résultats jolis et parfois paradoxaux, débattre, et surtout prendre du plaisir en apprenant.

⚠️ Le Cercle n’est pas du soutien scolaire : on ne refait pas les devoirs. C’est un espace de découverte, complémentaire à l’école, où l’on explore les maths de façon créative et accessible.

SwissMAP Junior Researcher Prize 2025 🏅

We are delighted to announce that the winners of our second edition of the SwissMAP Junior Researcher Prize are Alessandro Giacchetto (ETH Zurich) and Manuel Loparco (EPFL).

The Junior Researcher Prize, honors scientific achievements in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. This prize, supported by G-Research Careers, celebrates the groundbreaking work of early-career researchers in Switzerland.

SwissMAP and G-Research Careers invite nominations and applications for the SwissMAP Junior Researcher Prize 🏆

• The call is open to all PhD and postdoctoral researchers (maximum 5 years after PhD completion) in mathematics and theoretical physics enrolled in a Swiss institution at the time of application.
• We welcome self-nominations as well as nominations by PhD advisors and postdoctoral mentors.

The aim of this conference, which brings together researchers from all fields of mathematics, is to support the creation of mediation content based on their own work, and to discuss how such activities can, in turn, enrich their research.

Organized in partnership with the Société Mathématique de France and the Swiss Mathematical Society, and supported by Fields Medalist Hugo Duminil-Copin, the program includes:

• Plenary talks by leading figures in outreach and research and
workshops led by a mediator/researcher pair.

ℹ️ The conference is aimed at researchers in all fields of mathematics and at all career levels.
