Five Brix has been caught impersonating 5% concentration. The fake mustache nearly worked. 🥸

A refractometer gives you a Brix reading. For some coolants, you must multiply that reading by the product-specific refractometer factor to calculate the actual concentration.

The factor belongs to the coolant, not the instrument.

So, before correcting the sump:
✅ Check the coolant data sheet.
✅ Calibrate
✅ Clean the prism.

And take a good look at the dividing line. Because even a careful measurement can send you in the wrong direction when the factor is missing.

The bucket is still part of many CNC automation systems.
