Contrary to our commercial activities, Aeroscout participated in a very scientific project last week. The spectral imaging mounted on the B1-100 is one of two devices of its kind worldwide. It measures the fluorescence spectrum of the plants or simple terms, it measures the heard beat of the plants. It was necessary to mount a powerful computer hardware on the helicopter to store the sensor’s datastream of several 100Mbytes per second. Looking forward to the results!

The Aeroscout team is currently flying in La Selva, Costa Rica. The tropical forest area is about 2000m x 700m with an expected point density of 4000points/m^2. This takes about 8.5 flight hours to scan. The temperatures and the humidity are tropical! Though conditions for the team and the equipment. We keep you posted...

The Scout B-330 UAV helicopter is designed to carry payloads of nominal 30kg three hours in a typical mission scenario. This includes a fully autonomous take-off sequence, a mission flight at variable speed, and a landing sequence. The mission can be a preprogramed on a ground control station.
