✈️🇪🇺 Climate Impulse will proudly fly around the world carrying the flag of the European Union.
Executive Vice-President Stéphane Séjourné, Commissioner for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, has granted the European Commission’s official patronage to Climate Impulse: the first attempt at a non-stop, zero-emission flight around the world on green hydrogen.
A patronage is an institution putting its credibility behind a project it believes in, before the outcome is known. As global momentum on climate action faces headwinds, the EU’s endorsement sends a clear signal: Europe remains committed to a climate-neutral future through innovation and clean technologies. By placing Climate Impulse under its patronage, the Commission recognises the project as a meaningful contribution to Europe’s climate, innovation and sovereignty agenda.
“Europe has always progressed thanks to its pioneers, researchers and industrialists; this project is further proof of that. With hydrogen, we are supporting a strategic sector that will be one of the driving forces behind the decarbonisation of our economy and our industrial competitiveness.” —
Such an ambition is only possible with partners that also dare to rethink what is possible. Main Partner contributes the advanced composite structures and fuel-cell materials that support efficiency and range. Alongside them, Main Partners and strengthen the project through research and green hydrogen, while Official Partners and bring timekeeping and connectivity.
