We were pleased to welcome European Space Agency - ESA | ESA Space Safety delegates to ClearSpace for a technical visit, including the opportunity to witness our state-of-the-art Dark Room in action during the first advanced RendezVous Test Campaign ( ) campaign for ClearSpace-1 mission.

This visit marks the start of an intensive period of testing, with multiple technical campaigns planned across our facilities in support of ClearSpace-1 and our broader portfolio of missions and technology developments. Our teams are fully mobilised and deep in test mode 🛠️

It was also a great reminder that while calls and screens keep us connected, nothing quite replaces meeting in person, exchanging ideas face to face, and seeing the technology up close 🤝

Thank you to ESA for the continued collaboration and technical exchange as we move forward together.

Onboard AI, computer vision, and high-performance computing are redefining how missions are designed—and how they must be validated.

That’s why ClearSpace has been selected by ESA and Asynchronics to participate in ASCEND, to explore next-generation Digital Twin and hybrid simulation capabilities using the NeXosim platform

By combining high-fidelity system-level simulation with flight-representative software and progressing toward hardware-in-the-loop—this approach enables earlier validation of complex RPO and GNC autonomy. For our partners, this means faster feasibility assessments, reduced technical risk, and greater confidence long before hardware reaches the clean room.

Because the best way to de-risk autonomy in orbit
is to face reality early while still on the ground.

🚀 European Space Agency - ESA and ClearSpace are kicking off the PRELUDE mission advancing safe and sustainable in-orbit operations 🌍🛰️

PRELUDE will demonstrate critical technologies for the future of space operations, including:
🔹 Close-proximity manoeuvres
🔹 High-precision relative navigation
🔹 Cooperative operations between two spacecraft

Inspiring and being inspired by the next generation of space explorers 🌍✨
This year, during the Astronaut for a Day ( ) programme, we had the pleasure of mentoring 𝐶𝑒́𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑒, 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝐿𝑢𝑥𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑔’𝑠 𝑆𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝐴𝑚𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑎𝑑𝑜𝑟𝑠.
Through this incredible experience, she discovered how 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 lies at the heart of every future mission because exploration can only thrive if we protect the orbital environment we all depend on. ♻️

ClearSpace is proud to co-lead, alongside Astroscale and D-Orbit, the publication of the Stage 1 Independent Public Report on the RPO Regulatory Sandbox funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and supported by the UK Space Agency.

This first-of-its-kind initiative addresses the regulatory challenges of Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO), laying the groundwork for in-orbit servicing, assembly, and manufacturing (ISAM).

Together, our consortium developed over 60 recommendations to:
✅ Provide clarity and certainty for UK operators, customers, and investors
✅ Encourage inward investment in advanced in-space services
✅ Support the UK’s ambition to lead in safe and sustainable RPO missions

🚀 Introducing our 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 : here is a video glimpse into how we choreograph the delicate dance between our robotic servicer and uncooperative objects in space. It's the foundation of autonomous rendezvous and capture.
In this clip, you’ll see:

🤖 Our Wide Angle Camera, the real on-board navigation camera gathering realistic images
🧠 Complex orbital motion (reproduced flawlessly on our robots) matching between two spacecrafts to reduce relative velocities to zero
