The SCHNEEBALLER Maschinen almost made it to the podium – but definitely won in team spirit. ⚽🔥

At the Steckholzer football tournament, our SCHNEEBERGER team entered the pitch fully prepared:
three training sessions completed, 30 litres of water and Rivella packed, fans on the sidelines and even two team photographers ready for action.

The only problem?
33°C, no shade and a pitch that felt more like a grill than grass.

But the SCHNEEBALLER Maschinen kept running.

With full commitment, strong team spirit and a few very impressive goals, the team achieved a surprising 4th place finish:

Match 1: 1–1
Match 2: 2–0
Match 3: 0–3
Match 4: 3–5
Match 5: 0–2

Not quite enough for the podium, but more than enough for unforgettable moments, tired legs and well-earned muscle soreness.

And of course, every proper tournament performance deserves a proper finish:
beer, bratwurst and good vibes in the FC Steckholz festival tent.

A big thank you to our players Hardy, Linus, Nicolas, Tillmann, Valen, Alex, Marcel and Reto for giving everything on the pitch.

Thank you as well to all our fans for the fantastic support and atmosphere, to FC Steckholz for the excellent organization and to J. SCHNEEBERGER Maschinen AG for the sponsorship.

Podium next time. Bratwurst this time. Fair deal.

When the IT’s working, you hardly notice it – but when it isn’t, Dario’s the one to turn to.

Forgot your password?
Printer on strike?
A system behaving like it had its own Monday morning?

That’s where Dario Di Francesco comes in.

In our latest interview, Dario gives a personal insight into his daily work in IT support at SCHNEEBERGER. He talks about technical challenges, system stability, security, backups, access rights and why patience is sometimes just as important as technical knowledge.

Because good IT support is not only about fixing problems — it is about keeping things running before anyone even notices.

Thank you, Dario, for your expertise, your calm approach and your reliable support behind the scenes.

Achieving more together at SCHNEEBERGER Service Seminar 2026

Service engineers and representatives from around the world came together in Roggwil, Switzerland, for a week of technical training, practical workshops and international exchange.

The focus was on deepening service knowledge, working hands-on with various Qg1 modules and strengthening collaboration across our global service network.

A special thank you to Deborah Jeker and Dominik Hostettler from ELASO for their valuable workshop on acoustic sensor technology and balancing technology.

From technical insights to personal exchange, bowling and an Italian dinner — the seminar created real value both professionally and as a team.

A strong week for our global service community.

The SCHNEEBERGER Aries NGP grinds and mills ceramic dental implants

With its compact footprint and fast automated loading, the Aries NGP 5-axis grinding machine is ideally suited for the production of small parts and tools. In the application shown, high-performance ceramics are not only ground but also milled in a single setup.

The ceramic implant is clamped between an adjustable W20 chuck and a pneumatic tailstock. Two diamond grinding wheels are used: a 1A1 wheel for grinding the cone and a profile wheel for grinding the thread. A special feature is the production of the groove using a solid-diamond milling cutter. This is mounted centrally on the grinding wheel fl**ge in an ER collet. The Scara robot loads in 8 seconds and, with four pallets, has sufficient autonomy for unmanned series production.

In numerous medical applications, particularly in the field of implants, there is a growing trend toward the use of ceramics. Zirconia causes fewer allergic reactions than surgical steel and titanium. In addition, ceramics bond more effectively with bone tissue. The most efficient way to machine ceramics is with 5-axis grinding machines, preferably from SCHNEEBERGER.

A new way to program Form-Reamers with the CAD/CAM software Qg1: Fewer parameters, greater efficiency. Read the insights given by SCHNEEBERGER engineers, directly from GrindingHub.

How has the software changed?

“Programming of Form Reamers has been completely redesigned. It is streamlined, simplified and enhanced.”

What are the main advantages over the previous version?

“The new form reamer design software allows for simplified management of different profiles within the same tool. The definition is done via DXF, which can be easily viewed and modified using SCHNEEBERGER’s EasyProfile. Indicating the nominal dimensions is enough, undercut definition and grinding diameters are automatically taken care of by Qg1.

The initial overmeasure value is to be defined, roughing and finishing processes are handled by Quinto. Several roughing processes have been added, such as plunge OD grinding with a 1A1 wheel or profile grinding with an 11V9 wheel. Last but not least a new in-process measurement with custom-defined probing points was implemented. The operator can rely on a controlled sequence in achieving the desired tolerance.”

The detailed and precise 3D simulation of the machine and grinding processes, calculation of grinding times and an instructive simulation make this package ideal for your needs! See yourself and book an online software demo with your favorite SCHNEEBERGER application engineers.

The Sirius NGS CNC grinding machine is known for the production of micro-tools and indexable inserts. Its robust kinematics, combined with linear motors and high-precision rotary axes, make it an ideal solution for industrial manufacturing.

With grinding wheels up to 300 mm in diameter, the machine ensures high and consistent productivity. It meets even the most demanding requirements for profile accuracy and surface quality. The vertical dresser allows for optimal control of the geometry and cutting performance of the grinding wheels during production.

The reference plate clamping system (RPC-V), developed and manufactured by SCHNEEBERGER, ensures optimal positioning of the indexable inserts for machining complex profiles. The reference plates are easy to exchange, offering high flexibility in use.

The Fanuc robot loading system ensures 24/7 production of indexable inserts. Positive customer feedback at GrindingHub attests to this: “Since commissioning 18 months ago, our Sirius NGS has exceeded all expectations with 98% productivity.”

Trust in SCHNEEBERGER’s expertise for the manufacture of your indexable inserts and microtools, regardless of type and profile.

The new Gemini NGM TAP grinds flutes, threads and chamfers with great power and precision. An innovative clamping device meets the industry’s requirements of an all-in-one tap production machine. The new comprehensive solution generates a lot of excitement at the trade show.

The Gemini NGM TAP scores with batch size flexibility, short setup times, and reduced personnel cost due to a short production chain. High machining efficiency is based on the rock-solid Gemini structure, linear motors in X, Y and Z as well as a powerful, auto-balanced 24 kW spindle (S1).

The essential component of an all-in-one tap grinder is a clamping system that meets the requirements of all grinding processes:

- clamping between centers for precise thread grinding with adjustable runout and concentricity
- minimal contour for collision-free flute and chamfer grinding, even of small taps

07/05/2026

SCHNEEBERGER’s best-selling 5-axis CNC grinding machine has been redesigned. Everything the Norma is known for has been improved. The complete redesign, featuring 80% new components, resulting in a grinding machine that is exceptionally stable, precise, and dynamic. What remains is the flexibility and versatility of applications that the Norma is known for.

The Norma Alpha offers more space for big ambitions. Linear motors with travel ranges of X 480, Y 400, and Z 340 mm; the spindle-side C-axis and direct-drive A-axis are optimally positioned. With a 10% larger working volume, a wide range of grinding applications can be successfully performed. The 1260 mm long T-slot worktable allows for flexible arrangement of the workpiece, clamping devices, and various options such as a dresser, tailstock, and steady rest. All this in an extremely compact machine design.
