Seyer Industries orders a second Starrag STC 1800 machining center to increase capacity for large titanium, stainless-steel and high-performance-alloy components in aerospace and defense applications.

Twelve weeks to replace an entire flexible manufacturing system.

Together with Starrag and PROMOT Automation, PÖTTINGER Landtechnik installed four Heckert H75 machining centers, an automated pallet storage system and a shared tool concept providing access to 1,040 tools.

Digital simulation and advance testing at Starrag’s Chemnitz facility helped the team prepare the machining processes before installation even began.

And the new system delivers more than a smooth changeover: One process improvement alone saves almost 20% of the cycle time at a crucial stage.

The Heckert H75 featured in this project is now designated as the Heckert H70 in Starrag’s current portfolio.

Je größer das Bauteil, desto kleiner der Spielraum für Abweichungen.

Bei GE Energy Products France werden große Gasturbinenscheiben aus Stahl und Inconel gefertigt. Bauteile, die bis zu 20 Tonnen wiegen können und gleichzeitig höchste Anforderungen an Präzision und Oberflächenqualität stellen.

Genau hier zeigt die Berthiez RVU 2800/250, was Großteilbearbeitung heute leisten kann.

Schleifen, Drehen, Bohren, Fräsen und Inline-Messen erfolgen in einer Aufspannung. Das reduziert nicht nur zusätzliche Bearbeitungsschritte. Es hilft auch dabei, die geforderte Genauigkeit zuverlässig einzuhalten. Bei Konzentrizität und Planlauf werden Werte von weniger als 2 µm erreicht.

Und Präzision ist nur ein Teil der Aufgabe. Mit automatisiertem Werkzeugwechsel und der Möglichkeit zu mannlosen Schichten konnte GE die Produktivität weiter steigern. Insgesamt rechnet das Unternehmen mit einem Produktivitätsgewinn von rund 30 %.

Das zeigt: Wenn Werkstücke größer und Toleranzen kleiner werden, braucht es mehr als eine große Maschine. Gefragt ist ein Bearbeitungskonzept, das Präzision, Stabilität, Multifunktionalität und Produktivität zusammenbringt.
