When a format change is required, every minute of downtime counts.
The SmartCan filler/seamer block by KHS Gruppe / Ferrum is engineered for fast and operator-friendly conversion of both can and lid diameters. Consistent quick-change solutions throughout the system make a measurable difference where it matters most.

🔹 Can diameter change: Changeover can be completed in around 22 minutes - compared to approximately 45 minutes conventionally. That is a time saving of more than 50%.
🔹 Combined can and lid diameter change: Depending on configuration, changeover time is reduced by up to 60% compared to conventional systems.

To illustrate what that means in real production terms: assuming a time saving of around 100 minutes per combined changeover and an average line speed of 120'000 cans per hour, that translates to approximately 200'000 additional cans produced per format change.
