Last week, NASA’s X-59 reached a major milestone with its first-ever supersonic flight. Now the team is preparing for the aircraft’s first mission conditions flight.

For the first time, the X-59 will fly at Mach 1.4 at an altitude of 55,000 feet, the same approximate conditions planned for future community overflights.

This flight will also be an opportunity to follow along live on NASA’s flight tracker. Stay tuned as Quesst continues advancing quieter supersonic research.

Feeling the heat? We can "see" it from space! 🥵

A powerful heatwave has been gripping large parts of Europe, pushing air temperatures beyond seasonal norms.

This map was created using data from the Copernicus EU Sentinel-3 mission’s Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer. As the instrument’s name suggests, the image reveals the temperature of the land surface, not air temperature.
