Meet Andreas, our Head of Key Account Management 🚀

Andreas has been part of LEDCity since 2019 – bringing over six years of experience and dedication to the team. With a strong background in the energy sector, he was drawn to LEDCity’s mission of saving as much energy as an entire power plant produces. That vision convinced him to join what was then a young startup, eager to make a real impact.

Since then, a lot has changed – teams have grown, processes have become more structured, and the technology has developed. What keeps Andreas motivated? The strong team spirit, his relationship with his manager Patrik, and the excitement of celebrating big deals when they happen.

With his great network in Swiss real estate asset management, Andreas focuses on maintaining key accounts and helping them transition to energy-efficient lighting. Some of his biggest wins include upgrading the lighting in all parking facilities of a major pension fund and large-scale projects like Sihlcity, with thousands of light points. And looking ahead, Andreas hopes to work more closely with our team in Germany, so he can support his clients internationally and enable more savings.

We are more than lucky to have him on board — always ready for a chat (especially about football) and guaranteed to make us laugh! Thanks for bringing good vibes into the office and for being such a great listener.

Today serves as a reminder of the importance of saving energy and encourages both consumers and businesses to take action in reducing energy consumption. Together with its partners, the Schweizer Licht Gesellschaft SLG helps to save 3500 GWh per year, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of more than 1 million households.

As a community, SLG is all about sharing knowledge, staying ahead of trends, and driving innovation in lighting and most important – making a real impact. Their focus on energy efficiency and sustainability is right in line with our mission, especially when it comes to , our intelligent lighting system that leverages sensors and connectivity to save up to 80% compared to LED.

Our NOMUS customers just received their latest half-year energy reports – concluding the fourth round of valuable insights into occupancy and energy usage data! 📊

But let us take a step back: What exactly are NOMUS energy reports, and why are they so impactful?

Our NOMUS lighting solution seamlessly integrates advanced sensors and intelligent technology into every light point, enabling wireless communication via IoT. This innovation allows for continuous, real-time data collection, which are wirelessly transmitted to our database and transformed into comprehensive half-yearly reports. These reports provide key insights into several energy consumption metrics.

With this data, our clients can easily identify:
✅ How much energy their system is saving compared to the previous system.
✅ Opportunities to further enhance efficiency.
✅ Yearly and monthly energy usage dynamics

Once the data has been analyzed, the customer can collaborate with our Project Engineers to refine and optimize the solution. The best part? Adjustments can be made remotely with just a few clicks – no need for on-site visits!

Daylight sensors in lighting systems: How much energy can they really save? ☀️
With high energy costs and ambitious sustainability targets, energy efficiency is a must in real estate. To understand the true energy efficiency potential of our daylight sensors, we conducted a 10-month study across eight use cases – which revealed impressive savings additional to the savings from our motion sensors (which are usually around 70%):
• Offices: 4% to 23% energy savings.
• Corridors: Up to 28%.
• Outdoor Spaces: A remarkable 65%.

🔍 How daylight sensors work: Daylight sensors continuously measure the amount of natural light in a space and automatically adjust the brightness of the luminaires accordingly. This reduces unnecessary energy consumption by ensuring that artificial lighting is only used when and where it is truly needed.

Our product manager Yevhen attended the Swiss Lighting Forum last week at Technopark Zürich, where industry professionals explored the latest trends and challenges in lighting, lighting planning and project management. 💡

Discussions covered the role of lighting planning, its place in the project management process the impact of the EU Green Deal on Swiss supply chains, the growing importance of repairability in lighting products, how data is transforming sustainable lighting solutions. Additionally, experts talked about the evolution of professional lighting services and the importance of collaboration in complex lighting projects. A fantastic day for networking, learning, and exchanging ideas!

After the import ban in 2023, the next big step is coming: starting September 1, 2025, the sale of fluorescent tubes and certain halogen lamps (T8, G9, G4, GY6.35) will be banned across the EU and beyond. 🌍

This means it is time to switch to LED technology – a move that is not only required but also highly beneficial as LEDs offer efficiency, avoid toxic mercury and have a longer lifespan.
