Love × Fear × Robots

In 2020, at the start of the pandemic, our CEO & Founder Sylvia Stocker learned something that still guides her today.

Fear was everywhere.
The news. The noise. The uncertainty.

And then it hit her: We can’t control what happens - but we can choose how we respond.

One question changed everything: Fear or love?

They’re not true opposites, but in that moment, it felt like the only choice that mattered.

She chose love.

Fear did not disappear, however, fear isn’t her strategy.

Today, in her work with robots, she often meet people who are afraid.

Afraid of the pace of change. Afraid of what technology might mean for their jobs, their teams, or their sense of control.

We understand that fear, and we like to ask:

- Is your fear stopping the development you’re afraid of?
- Is it helping you think clearly?
- Is it moving you forward?

Sylvia is sure that we're stronger when we meet change with open eyes and open hearts. That’s what choosing love can mean today. A better place to stand.

What is your choice?

Another way to face fear is by learning about robots & AI, for example in our of our workshops.

Will 🤖 robots replace us?
That’s one of the questions we get asked most.

There are the headlines. And why would most media outlets go deeper when fear drives clicks?

Bad outcomes tend to stick in readers' and viewers' minds much more than the more balanced picture of what these technologies can and can’t do.

Our best advice: instead of consuming those tales, start experiencing robots yourself. Get a clearer picture of where we're at today.

Sure, it can feel like something is being taken away.

But if you take the time to find out what robots really contribute today, you’ll notice something interesting:
- They’re mostly taking on the parts of work that very few people enjoy.
- Those parts that wear them down.

There are many ways to look at this shift, but here’s an important one: 👉 Being replaced by robots isn’t the problem.

The real problem is already here - in care homes, restaurants, warehouses, and clinics, there aren’t enough people left to do the work.

Worse, the professionals who are great at their jobs are overwhelmed with chores and admin. They fall out of love with the work that once gave them pride and purpose.

- A great nurse likely values having an honest conversation with a patient more than running back and forth with supplies.
- A great waiter enjoys connecting with guests, not racing plates around the kitchen.
- A great salesperson loves helping customers, not losing hours to restocking and reordering.

Today’s reality?

Positions go unfilled, or get filled by underqualified staff. Teams run short. Good people burn out.

The pipeline of workers is drying up. And the gap between what needs to be done and who’s still available to do it is widening.

That’s one way to look at robotics and part of why we work with robots.

Because from that perspective, the technology isn’t moving too fast. It’s not moving fast enough!

Not to eliminate humans, but to support the human professionals who are still there. The ones who love what they do and are good at it.

- To relieve pressure.
- To stabilise systems that are under strain.
- To make space for the parts of work that only humans can do.

Robots help solve the staffing crisis.

They also give us room to rethink what human work should actually feel like.

🎄 2025: The Moment Physical AI Left the Lab and Met Humanity

In 2025, humanoid robots 2.0 stepped out of labs and headlines - into real environments: on stages, in pilot projects and into daily operations. (I’ve been working with humanoids 1.0 like Pepper for years)

🤖 Physical AI became more tangible
Humanoids moving, responding, learning - imperfect, yes, but present.
Human–machine interaction as the central element.

🎤 Thought leadership took center stage
From the Humanoid Summit London to Swiss AI Weeks and Swiss Robotics Day, panels and keynotes this year weren’t about hype.
They were about responsibility, integration, and leadership in a world where humans and machines work side by side.
In our work, we consistently emphasize two dimensions:
– the technical transformation -> how do we make this work?
– the human transformation -> what is truly best for us?

♻️ Sustainability entered the robotics conversation
….as a serious question of lifecycle, circularity, and second lives for machines….to be continued.

🔁 RaaS matured
Automation with Robot-as-a-Service became more flexible, accessible and agile - changing how organisations adopt and scale robotics.

🧠 One truth became undeniable
When automation is done right, our work becomes more human.
People step into creativity, care, leadership, and strategy - while robots take on what drains us.

2025 reminded us of something fundamental:
Technology doesn’t define our future. Leadership does.

We see opportunity - and we`re genuinely excited about how humans can evolve alongside intelligent machines.
Deeply grateful 🙏 for the team, our clients, partners, the stages, panels, podcasts, the robots - and the humans courageous enough to questions, lot’s of questions! Finally, thanks ceomonthly for the award " The Most Influential CEO in Robotics & AI in 2025”.

Wishing you all reflective days, bold ideas, and meaningful connections. Looking forward to new conversations and bold steps in 2026. Keep evolving, Sylvia (CEO & Founder)

🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 Six humanoid robots steal the show - with perfectly synchronized dance

Something remarkable happened on a stage in Chengdu, China. Six humanoid robots made their first major live performance, dancing alongside Chinese-American singer Wang Leehom, as part of the show.
Dressed in silver sequins, the robots performed a fully synchronized choreography with the artist.

What stood out:
• Webster flips
• Human-like motion control
• Precise timing to live music

We’re talking coordinated arm movements, leg kicks, turns, and jumps - all executed in sync.

Robots have appeared on stage before.
What’s different here is scale and capability: not one robot moving cautiously, but multiple humanoids performing dynamic movements together.
On one hand, this demonstrates how far robotics and physical AI have progressed.
On the other, it marks something deeper: a human–machine co-production in the performing arts.

Behind the performance was Unitree Robotics. Earlier this year, the company introduced a capability called “Keep the Music Going, Keep the Dance Flowing” - enabling robots to stay rhythmically aligned with music in real time.
What are your thoughts on robots entering human stages - and human culture? 🤔💬

We Were Born Into A World Of Wires - But Raised On Dreams 🦄
🤖 Robots have gone from tools to teammates.

The evolution continues, as Robots and AI are merging further and further, physical AI is the next big thing. In other words, when AI becomes a body.

Besides understanding the technology and using it beneficially, we tend to ask ourselves about how we, as leaders, can prepare ourselves? The Mindset is just one of the tools we can sharpen.

Technology evolves, as
Humanoid robots are entering logistics, manufacturing, hospitality, care.
AI is stepping into decisions, workflows, and communication.

This shift isn’t a technological transformation only though.
It’s likewise a human transformation.

The real frontier? How to strengthen our Human Capabilities.

🤖 Europe’s Humanoid Robotics Moment

When people talk about humanoid robots, the conversation usually jumps straight to the US and China. Thinking of Europe, here’s a couple of humanoid robotics companies coming to my mind.

🇪🇸 PAL Robotics (Spain) - One of the longest-standing humanoid pioneers, focused on real-world mobility and service robotics.
🇩🇪 NEURA Robotics (Germany) - Pushing cognitive humanoids designed for industrial work and human–robot collaboration.
🇬🇧 Engineered Arts (UK) - Building the world’s most expressive humanoids for communication, interaction, and emotion-driven design.
🇬🇧 Humanoid (UK) - A rising startup reinventing how robot embodiment and AI merge.
🇳🇴 1X Technologies (Norway) - Backed by OpenAI, developing humanoids for security, logistics, and home tasks.
🇨🇭 Hexagon Robotics (Switzerland) - A Swiss player bringing precision engineering into the humanoid space.
🇬🇧 Kinisi Robotics (UK) - Designing human-adaptive movement systems for advanced mobility and assistance.
🇫🇷 Enchanted Tools (France) - Blending robotics with character-driven design to create socially intuitive, expressive humanoid helpers.

🌍 Why this matters
Humanoid robots are moving from research labs to pilot projects in logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, security, hospitality, and public services. These robots unlock entirely new workflows in environments built for humans, for now.

🔍 ... meanwhile, in China…
China’s government has just warned about a potential humanoid robotics bubble: too many companies, too fast, chasing hype instead of validated demand. It’s an important signal. (source: Bloomberg)

My values: human-centred technology, sustainable, safe and profitable.

👉 Where do you see the strongest opportunities for humanoids deployment in Europe? Let’s open the conversation.

Human-Centered Automation - What? How? and Why!
Robots & AI

To our CEO & Founder Sylvia Stocker, it is the core of successful automation with Robots & AI.
Human-centered automation gets mentioned everywhere. But, what does it mean and why is it important?

1️⃣ WHAT - What is human-centered automation?
It’s automation designed around people, not technology. It means:
✔ Robots take over tasks humans shouldn’t do
(dull, dangerous, heavy, repetitive)
✔ Humans focus on the work they excel at
(creativity, strategy, leadership, care)
✔ Technology that extends human capability, not replaces it
This isn’t theoretical. In Sylvias field of work service robots and humanoids automate across hospitality, healthcare, logistics, retail, and manufacturing.

2️⃣ HOW - How do companies implement it?
Sylvia sees two essential elements:
1. Design and program the tasks in a way that respects humans.
Robots must be predictable and supportive, so human–machine collaboration actually works.
2. Adoption models that are flexible and accessible
This is where RaaS (Robot-as-a-Service) becomes a true game changer.
With RaaS, companies can:
• deploy robots on a monthly subscription (cost and agility)
• pilot, learn, and scale without CapEx
• build workflows where humans + robots operate as one team
• integrate automation without disrupting employees
Human-centered means technology adapting to people, not the other way around.

3️⃣ WHY - Why it matters?
Let’s take Switzerland, for example, an SME nation.
99% of all companies have fewer than 250 employees.
To stay competitive, they must optimise processes while protecting their people.
Human-centered automation delivers exactly that:
• more time
• more stability
• more capacity
• more meaningful work
• more resilience in a tight labour market

Yesterday, the world took a deep breath!
Is the AI bubble about to burst?

In the days leading up to NVIDIA’s Q3/2025 earnings, global markets were tense:
- Are we at the peak?
- Is AI overheating?
- Is the bubble bursting?
Then the numbers dropped, and once again, expectations were exceeded.

How is Nvidia relevant to Robotics & AI?
One example is the infrastructure layer powering the AI + Physical AI revolution. Some of the leading humanoid companies using Nvidia are: Figure, Tesla Optimus, Agility Robotics, Neura, 1X, Apptronik and Sanctuary AI.

Here’s the truth:
We are not at the end of a cycle.
We are at the beginning of an era.

What’s unfolding now is the convergence of AI + Physical AI:
• Humanoid robots stepping into logistics and manufacturing
• AI agents taking over repetitive, rule-based processes
• Service robots reducing operational pressure in hospitals, hotels, retail
• Enterprises running pilots that were unthinkable just three years ago

The era brings technological transformation AND human transformation. We are bound to evolve, learn and adapt. Humanoid robots could free us from up to 50% of undesirable jobs, the dull, dangerous and dirty ones. Humanoids (Physical AI) are currently early-stage systems entering real environments with real business value. The shift has started.

But only if we design this transition with intention and with a human-centred approach. We are creating this shift together.

If you want to explore where Physical AI creates the strongest impact, from strategy to deployment, I’m here for that conversation.

♻️ Sustainability in Robotics x Swiss Robotics Day

The Swiss Robotics Day 2025 was an exceptional day of meaningful human and humanoid encounters.

But amidst the excitement, one topic stood out to to our CEO & Founder Sylvia Stocker on her panel “Sustainable Robotics - Can Robots Be Sustainable?”:

👉 The sustainability conversation in robotics is still in its infancy.

In Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS), the way we deploy robots at Arabesque, the machines are upgraded roughly every two years. It’s part of the model: rapid automation, continuous improvement, monthly subscription, better performance for our clients.

But this raises a critical question: What happens to the robots coming back from the field? Sylvia thinks of designing a second life for them, not just first use. One promising path is education, where retired robots can continue creating value and support SDG 4: Quality Education, the goal that we support at Arabesque.

And that’s just half the equation, the first part of it is the manufacturing process.

Swiss Robotics Day showed the energy of our ecosystem: reconnecting with peers, meeting new innovators, and seeing humanoids move from research to reality.

👉 What opportunities, or challenges, do you see for circularity in robotics? We’d love to hear your perspective.

🤖 RaaS - Robots on Demand. Human Enhanced.

In automation, the conversation often starts with technology - hardware, software, systems. But the real shift happening now isn’t technical. It’s strategic and human-centric.

We love to create solutions that are intuitive, empowering, and designed to enhance employee satisfaction. Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) is a monthly subscription model that changes how organisations think about automation. It’s not about owning robots. It’s about accessing intelligent capability – on demand, scalable, and agile. And with that we support and enhance humans in their workplace.

At Arabesque, we see companies deploying robots with RaaS not just to automate tasks, but to reimagine how work gets done:
- Robots step in where routine meets repetition.
- People focus on creativity, innovation, and connection.
- Businesses scale faster — without heavy CapEx or rigid timelines.

This model is cost-effective and serves the mindset of continuous agile automation - a place where business AND people grow.

Tomorrow, at the Swiss Robotics Day 2025 our CEO & Founder Sylvia Stocker will speak about sustainability in Robotics, please come and join (link in comments below). She will speak about the option giving robots a second life in educational settings (after RaaS) as a great way to promote sustainability and also inspire the next generation of robotics experts!

💬 How do you see the monthly subscription model in Robotics (RaaS) reshaping your industry?
