Magnetica is in the spotlight, resulting in us being featured in a report aired on ABC News and ABC Australia 's The Business this week. The report explored Australia’s opportunity to become a leading global supplier of helium — a critical resource for advanced technology and healthcare, particularly MRI.

Most people think of helium as a gas for filling balloons, but it plays a vital role in MRI, where superconducting magnets rely on its cooling properties to function.

Magnetica's prototype 3T MR system for dedicated MSK extremity imaging employs a closed-circuit dry magnet. Our patented magnet technology overcomes the impact of potential helium shortages because it does not require liquid helium to operate.

With global supply challenges emerging, the story highlights just how important reliable access to helium is — and why innovation in MRI systems matters more than ever.
