For years, the Arduino Uno has been the cornerstone of our electronics curriculum. As a Education Ambassador, I have seen this open-source pioneer bring life to countless beginner projects. By integrating these boards into the TME Education “All-in-One” platform, we created a streamlined apprenticeship path that allowed students in Cameroon to transition quickly from theory to practice.

The landscape of education changed in 2026 with the release of the Arduino Uno Q. By embedding a GPU directly onto the board, Arduino transformed the microcontroller into a high-performance, portable computer capable of running AI models on the edge.
We hosted a high-impact workshop to put this power into the hands of our students. We leveraged the Arduino_App_Lab to demonstrate how rapidly an AI-driven IoT project could be deployed.
We showed to our community how to use the Arduino Q with TmeEducation board embedded with sensors for AI sensor Networking using OpenClaw ai agent.
The Flagship Project: Edge Impulse Face Recognition
Our workshop culminated in the creation of an AI-powered Door Lock System by Plastibytes . Unlike traditional systems, this project processed data locally:
The Build: An Arduino Uno Q connected to a USB Camera, a Servo motor, and an HDMI screen.
The Intelligence: We used Edge Impulse to deploy a face-recognition model directly to the board’s GPU, allowing for near-instant detection and visual feedback on the screen.
The success of this workshop proves that with the right tools, the Cameroonian youth are ready to lead in the fields of AI and IoT. The Arduino Uno Q isn’t just a board; it is a catalyst for localized, high-tech solutions to real-world problems.
