We pray for Cameroon and we wish to be same as this great Geologist out there!!
After around 5 meters of hand-excavated tunnel, we found the flats again this past week. More green instead of the aesthetically challenged purples from the vein! Unfortunately, the pocket was small, and difficult to work at the end of a 20 foot crawl space. We did manage to recover a number of good pieces, but the space is becoming a bit dodgy, and will need to be developed as a proper tunnel. At least we know where the flats have gone! Six weeks of hand-work have left this bunch of old farts rather knackered, so time to pack up and take some R&R before heading back to California. Watch for website updates next month. Cheers!
