Nigeria Railway Training Program Kicks Off at CRSC Beijing Headquarters
On August 5, the Nigeria Railway Transport Operations and Maintenance Training Program officially launched at the Beijing headquarters of China Railway Signal & Communication Corporation (CRSC).
Sponsored by China’s Ministry of Commerce, organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (MOFCOM), supported by the National Railway Administration, and hosted by CRSC, the program brought together key stakeholders.
Attendees included Mr. Chila Finbarr James, Director of Railway Transport Services, Federal Ministry of Transportation of Nigeria; Mr. Yu Tao, Director of the International Cooperation Office, National Railway Administration; Mr. D**g Mingde, Vice President & Secretary-General of the Beijing Specialized and New Enterprises Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Gao Jian, Party Secretary & Chairman of CRSC International Holdings; Ms. Wang Qianwen, Deputy GM of CRSC Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group; along with 25 senior officials and technical experts from Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Transportation, railway corporations, engineering departments, and multiple state transport agencies.
On August 6, participants toured the CRSC campus. They viewed corporate and CBTC system presentations, then visited labs including the Train Control System Comprehensive Lab, High-Speed Rail Signaling Dynamic Lab, Low-Altitude Economy Lab, and Urban Rail Company Lab — witnessing CRSC’s latest innovations in CTCS train control, CBTC urban rail signaling, and low-altitude intelligent management. Experts provided detailed guidance throughout. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Beijing Railway Signal Factory to observe core signal equipment manufacturing, experiencing CRSC’s full R&D-to-production value chain.
Over the next 21 days, the program will combine lectures, case studies, on-site training, and seminars to share China’s railway success stories and technological breakthroughs. CRSC is committed to advancing Nigeria’s railway modernization, ensuring the China-Nigeria cooperation train runs steadily and far across Africa.
