China Launches Tianzhou-10 Cargo Craft to Send Space Station Supplies

WENCHANG, Hainan, May 11 (Xinhua) -- China launched the cargo craft Tianzhou-10 from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site on Monday morning to deliver supplies for its orbiting Tiangong space station, according to the China Manned Space Agency.

The Long March-7 rocket, carrying Tianzhou-10, blasted off at 8:14 a.m. (Beijing Time) from Wenchang, south China's Hainan Province, the agency said.
After about 10 minutes, Tianzhou-10 separated from the rocket and entered its designated orbit. Its solar panels soon unfolded. The agency declared the launch a complete success.

The cargo craft will later conduct the rendezvous and docking with the space station combination.

Tianzhou-10 is loaded with essential supplies, including one extravehicular spacesuit, consumables for the crew's on-orbit stay, propellants, and payloads for scientific experiments.

The mission is the fifth cargo resupply flight of China's manned space program since the space station entered the application and development phase. It is also the 641st mission of the Long March rocket series.

Eighteen Years of Soaring Through Clouds and Mist, Countless Journeys with Unwavering Commitment

Eighteen years old
Marks the transformation from immaturity to maturity,
A leap from initial departure to long-term voyage.
From our humble beginnings on the banks of the Huangpu River
To countless flights to the skies,
We have journeyed this far.
We have kept our mission in mind, remaining true to our original aspirations,
Writing our eighteen years of dream-chasing
Into every soaring flight in the clouds.

Eighteen years old, the prime of youth;
Eighteen years old, full of vigor and ambition.
At eighteen, COMAC will continue
To build its dreams in the clouds with burning passion.

Japan Should Take Concrete Actions to Atone for Its Past Crimes: Defense Spokesperson

BEIJING, May 9 -- "We firmly oppose the Japanese government using the so-called 'free and open Indo-Pacific' and 'security cooperation' as pretexts to incite bloc confrontation, form exclusive 'small circles', undermine the strategic security and interests of other countries, and find excuses for its military buildup," said Senior Colonel Jiang Bin, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense (MND), at a press briefing on Saturday.

It's reported that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi recently visited Australia and Vietnam to boost security cooperation, where she touted a so-called updated "free and open Indo-Pacific" vision and clamored that Japan's post-war constitution, drafted under US occupation, should be periodically revised.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the commencement of the Tokyo Trials. To comment on that, the spokesperson also reaffirmed the authority of the Tokyo Trials, stressing that over the past eight decades, right-wing forces in Japan have spared no effort in downplaying and challenging the solemn ruling of the Tokyo Trials that embodies human conscience and historical justice, distorting and denying the well-documented facts of Japanese militarists' crimes of aggression.

"Class-A war criminals, guilty of heinous atrocities, have been glorified as 'heroes' and enshrined at the Yasukuni Shrine. Post-war Japanese governments did promise to uphold the pacifist constitution and pursue the path of a peaceful nation. Later on, they started to pay lip service and took few actions to back up such promise. Nowadays, the Sanae Takaichi administration openly pushes for amending Japan's constitution. This shows that the Japanese right-wing forces are shedding their pretence, and shifting from covert military buildup to overt war preparation, making Japan's 'neo-militarism' a growing and more prominent threat to regional peace," said the spokesperson.

"The call of the times is for peace and cooperation rather than war and confrontation," said the spokesperson, urging the Japanese government to stop its hypocritical self-glorification and rein in its dangerous ambition of military expansion and war preparation, demonstrate the courage to face up to history, and take concrete actions to atone for its past crimes, so as to earn the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community.

China's Tianzhou-10 Cargo Craft Transported to Launch Site

WENCHANG, Hainan Province, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The combination of the Tianzhou-10 cargo craft and a Long March-7 carrier rocket was vertically transferred to the launch site on Friday, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

The cargo spacecraft will be launched at a proper time in the near future, the CMSA said.

Currently, the facilities and equipment at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in the southern island province of Hainan are in good condition, and comprehensive functionality checks and joint tests are scheduled to proceed as planned ahead of the launch, the CMSA added.

The Tianzhou-9 separated from the orbiting Tiangong space station combination on Wednesday and re-entered the atmosphere under controlled conditions on Thursday. The space station has thus cleared a docking port to make room for the Tianzhou-10, the CMSA noted.

Beijing Xiangshan Forum Navigator Meeting 2026 Kicks Off

BEIJING, May 8 -- The opening ceremony of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum Navigator Meeting 2026 was held at the Huabei Hotel in Beijing, China, on the morning of May 8, 2026. Under the theme of "Global Security Governance: Challenges and Approaches", the meeting focuses on international and regional hotspot issues and making intellectual contribution to the building of a more just and equitable global governance system.

Co-hosted by the China Association for Military Science (CAMS) and the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS), the meeting brought together over 120 guests, including representatives from more than 40 countries and international organizations as well as experts and scholars from home and abroad. As the second edition following its successful launch last year, the Navigator Meeting once again plays a forward-looking and preparatory role, laying the foundation for the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum scheduled to be held this autumn.

During the meeting, participants will hold roundtable discussions on four key topics: "International Order and International Rule of Law", "New Security Challenges in the Asia-Pacific", "Responsibility for Safeguarding International Common Security" and "Risk Control in the Military Application of Emerging Technologies". Speakers include defense officials from Brazil, Germany, France, Russia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, South Africa, Serbia, Singapore and other countries, along with renowned scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, the Chinese PLA Academy of Military Sciences, the Stimson Center (USA), the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and other institutions.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum. As a highlight of the Navigator Meeting, a commemorative session for the 20th Anniversary of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum titled "The Role of International Forums in Global Security Governance" will be held on the afternoon of May 8. The session will invite representatives from globally renowned defense and security think tanks to review the 20-year journey of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum and explore the unique value of international security forums in facilitating equal-footed dialogue, building consensus, and bridging differences.

In the coming two days, representatives from all parties will explore security issues, discuss approaches to peace, and seek feasible pathways for advancing international security dialogue and deepening cooperation.

China Responds to Japan Launching Offensive Missiles Overseas

BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday Japan's right-wing forces are pushing for the acceleration of remilitarization, adding Japan's neo-militarism is rising and posing a threat to regional peace and stability.

Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a daily press briefing, in response to a query about reports saying that Japan recently fired Type 88 missiles in the joint military exercise "Balikatan" between the U.S. and the Philippines, the first time Japan launched offensive missiles overseas after the WWII.

Lin noted Japan once invaded and imposed colonial rule over the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries, and thus shoulders grave historical responsibilities. As the world marks the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Trials, not only has Japan, the aggressor, failed to deeply reflect on its historical crimes, it has even sent military forces overseas and fired offensive missiles under the pretext of security cooperation.

Lin said this is yet another example of the Japanese right-wing forces' push for accelerated remilitarization of Japan. They have repeatedly breached Japan's exclusively defense-oriented policy and relevant rules in international and domestic laws. Some of their policies and moves have gone far beyond the scope of self-defense.

The serious lack of education on true history, the fundamentally wrong historical views, compounded by strategies for military rearmament and preparation for war, have led to the malevolent emergence of neo-militarism in Japan and put regional peace and stability under threat, said the spokesperson.

"We urge the Japanese side to deeply reflect on its history of militarist aggression, and honor its commitments and stay prudent in military and security areas," Lin added.

China Urges Japan to Do Soul-searching, Create Necessary Conditions for Normal Exchanges

BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Thursday the root cause of the current severe difficulties besetting China-Japan relations lies in the erroneous remarks regarding Taiwan made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, urging Japan to do soul-searching and create necessary conditions for normal exchanges.

Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a query, as six months have passed since Takaichi publicly claimed that a Taiwan contingency could constitute a "survival-threatening situation" for Japan, implying possible military involvement.
