Erayga “Shidaal”, sida magaciisu muujinayo, waxa uu tilmaamayaa wax shidma, gubma, ama gubasho sameeya. Luqadaha qalaad waxa uu la micne yahay Fuel (Af-Ingiriisi), الوَقود (Af-Carabi), iyo 燃料 (Af-Shiine).

Erayga 燃料 waxa uu ka kooban yahay laba eray oo kala ah: “燃”, oo ka yimid “燃烧”, laguna micneeyo gubid, iyo "料" oo ka yimid ’’“材料”, oo loola jeedo walax.

Nidaam batrooleedku waa qaabka ay ku sameysmaan keydadka shidaalka(petroleum Reservoirs). Keyd shidaalku waa goobta oogada dhulka aad uga hooseeysa lehna astaamaha dul-duleelka (porosity) ama dhul-qararka(Fracture) iyo gudbinta (permeability), halkaa oo ay ku uruureen xaddi batrool ah.

Si uu u sameysmo keyd-batroolku waxaa lagama maarmaan ah in la helaa dhadhaab batrool-beer (Source Rock), dhadhaab keyd (Reservoir Rock), dhadhaab dade (Cap Rock), dhabbe hayaan (Migration pathway), dabin (Trap), qaangaarnimo (Maturation) iyo ammin (Timing). Haddii mid ka mid ah la waayo waxaa adag in la helo keyd shidaal taqliiddi ah (conventional reservoirs).

Saliidda Cayriin waxa ay ka kooban tahay boqolaal kun oo iskudhisyo isugu jira haayradokarboonno iyo walxo kale oo kiimikeed. 1) Xareedayn (Distillation / عمليات التقطير)

Si loo isticmaalo shidaalka laga soo saaray gunta hoose ee dhulka waxaa lama huraan ah in shidaalka loo qeybiyo Qeybo (Fractions) iyadoo loo fiirinaayo sida ay isugu astaamo dhow yihiin, lana isticmaalayo heerkul aad u sareeya. Hannaankaan ayaa waxaa loo yaqaanaa Xareedayn.

Saliidda Cayriin waxaa la dhex mariyaa Maraaq (Furnance) heer kulkiisa aad u sareeyo, wuxuuna Saliidda Cayriin u rogaa uumi, ka dibna uumiga ayaa u qulqula Munaaradda Xareedaynta (Distillation Tower), halkaasi ayay ku uumi hooraayaan (Condensation). 2)Hannaanada Badalidda (Conversion processes العمليات التحويلية)

Hannaankani waxa uu u dhacaa in qeybaha Moolikiyuuladoodu uu ka yar yahay ama uu la egyahay lagu sameeyo Dib-u-samayn (Reforming أعادة التكوين), waxaa loo badalaayaa Gasoline.
