A foot valve is a protective valve installed at the end of the water pump's suction line, providing both check and filtration functions.
The foot valve uses a cast valve body made of ductile iron, which offers higher tensile strength, ductility, and impact resistance compared to traditional cast iron. It can withstand high-pressure environments (typically 1.0MPa-1.6MPa) and certain temperature fluctuations. The internal structure of the foot valve consists of a stainless steel spring, valve stem, and a 304 stainless steel filter screen. The filter screen effectively intercepts impurities such as mud, sand, and weeds, preventing them from entering the pump body and causing wear.
The foot valve acts like a "smart gatekeeper": when the pump starts, the water pressure pushes open the valve disc, allowing the medium to pass smoothly; when the pump stops, the valve disc quickly closes under its own weight and reverse water pressure, preventing backflow and ensuring the pump remains in standby mode.
