2. Ratio Control
· Strict proportion: The amount of color paste added is typically very small, usually between 0.1% and 3% of the total weight of Part A.
· Avoid excessive use: Adding too much color paste can affect the physical properties of the silicone (such as tensile strength and tear resistance) and may also lead to uncured spots.

How to use vacuum pump to release the bubbles?
1. Sealing and Start-up: Cover the vacuum chamber and ensure a tight seal. Start the vacuum pump.
2. Key Observations:
• As the pressure decreases, you will see the silica gel level gradually rise, with numerous bubbles forming and rapidly expanding. Sometimes the surface may appear to boil.
• This is the process of bubbles expanding, merging, and rising, which is normal.
3. Control and Maintenance:
• When the bubbles reach their maximum size and begin to burst, carefully observe the surface to prevent overflow.
• When the surface stops churning violently and most bubbles have burst and disappeared, start timing. The time to maintain the vacuum depends on the viscosity and quantity of the silica gel.
• General Recommendation: 2-3 minutes for low-viscosity silica gel; 5-10 minutes or longer may be required for high-viscosity or large quantities of silica gel.
4. Slow Degassing:
• A crucial step! After degassing, do not immediately and quickly open the air inlet valve. • The air inlet valve should be opened or the vacuum released very slowly, allowing outside air to gradually enter the vacuum chamber. If air enters too quickly, the external airflow will violently impact the silicone surface, instantly creating new, denser small bubbles, ruining the entire process.
Common Problems and Solutions
• Bubbles are always present?
• Check if the vacuum level is sufficient (does the vacuum gauge reading meet the standard)
• Check if the vacuum period is too short.
• Check if the "vacuum breaking" step is too fast or too forceful (this is the most common cause).
What if I don't have a vacuum machine?
1. You can ask the supplier to extend the curing time, allowing the silicone to naturally expel bubbles. You can gently run a toothpick across the surface during the process.
2. After pouring the silicone into the mold, you can place it in a refrigerator to extend the curing time, allowing the silicone to naturally expel bubbles.
