“Stability is everything in our production. And that’s exactly what we got.”
That’s how Florian Mélin, Head of NDE Normandie, sums up his team’s experience with HSG Laser.
When NDE Normandie introduced the tube laser cutting machine (6kW) in February 2025, the goal was clear: improve efficiency without disrupting existing workflows. Like many manufacturers, they were cautious about integration risks and potential downtime.
But the transition turned out to be smoother than expected.
“From the start, the system fit naturally into our production,” Florian recalls. “Our operators adapted quickly, and we didn’t experience the kind of disruptions you often prepare for with new equipment.”
Over the following 12 months, the machine became part of daily operations—running consistently under high workloads.
“There were no major failures, which is critical for us,” he says. “What really stands out is consistency. Whether it’s small batches or high-volume production, the cutting quality remains stable.”
Ease of use also made a difference on the shop floor.
“Our operators don’t need constant adjustments or intervention. That allows us to keep production flowing without unnecessary stops.”
This experience ultimately led to a larger decision.
In April 2026, NDE Normandie invested in a second system—the sheet metal fiber laser cutting machine .
“It wasn’t a difficult decision,” Florian explains. “We had already seen how the first machine performed in real conditions.”
Beyond the machines themselves, local support played a key role.
“Even for minor issues, communication is quick and efficient. And with spare parts shipped from Germany, we avoid long delays that could impact production.”
For NDE Normandie, the relationship has evolved beyond a typical supplier dynamic.
“HSG Laser has become a reliable partner in our day-to-day operations—not just in terms of equipment, but in how they support our production.”
