According to Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the country’s electricity supply should be almost entirely renewable by 2035 – complemented by green hydrogen.

🌱 For those who don’t want to wait another ten years but aim to achieve this goal today, it’s worth taking a look at the Hydrogen Power Cube (HPC) from Cosber Hydrogen.

⚡ The HPC combines two powerful technologies:

1️⃣ Lithium batteries for short-term energy storage, e.g. from day to night.

2️⃣ An integrated hydrogen storage system, where surplus electricity is converted into hydrogen via electrolysis – and reconverted into power through a fuel cell when needed.

🚚💨 Hydrogen Future on Its Way to Switzerland!
One of our HPC equipment is currently on its way to a very special location – and we couldn’t be prouder.

🤝 Together with our partner Steiner Köng Energietechnik AG, we are setting a milestone in the Swiss energy landscape:
At the energy self-sufficient commercial building “Sun Power” in Dittingen, the first year-round hydrogen storage system in Switzerland is being installed.

💡 The vision: Electricity, heat, and hydrogen – all renewable, CO₂-free, and independent of the grid.
The reality? It starts now.

🌍 What contribution does Cosber make to the energy transition?

☀️ We store renewable energy locally – for example electricity from our customers’ own PV systems.
From surplus solar power we produce “green” hydrogen, using PEM or AEM electrolyzers.

🏠 Energy-efficient new buildings and Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB) are the ideal application fields for this hydrogen technology.
When energy is generated and used locally, there must be storage to balance supply and demand.

With the Hydrogen Power Cube (HPC), Cosber offers exactly such a system: a compact, integrated hydrogen-solar power storage solution.
The Cube consists of two parts:
☑️ Inside system: conversion processes (production and reconversion of hydrogen into electricity).
☑️ Outside system: hydrogen storage under high pressure.

The diagram shows the role hydrogen will play in future energy supply. The bold lines mark the parts that Cosber can already cover today with its products.

Cosber provides an energy storage solution combining lithium iron phosphate batteries and hydrogen storage – so solar energy is always available exactly when needed:

👉 Wasserstoff in der Energiewende
…war der Titel eines Vortrags, den der Diplom-Ingenieur Carsten Böhmer von der Cosber Hydrogen GmbH am 28.08 vor etwa 50 Mitgliedern der Energiewendegenossenschaft gehalten hat.

Reto Haldimann, der Inhaber der Firma holzbau HALDIMANN hatte den Vortrag organisiert, um seine Vertriebspartnerschaft mit Cosber bekannt zu machen. Die Teilnehmer waren im Thema: alle waren aktive Pioniere der Energiewende die sich mit Photovoltaik und Stromspeicherungen mit Lithium-Batterien auskennen.

Neu war vielen jedoch, dass es nun auch Möglichkeit gibt, Strom aus dem Sommer in den Winter zu speichern:

Böhmer erklärte, wie der Cosber Hydrogen Cube als einziges System am Markt einen Kurzzeitspeicher mit Lithium-Akkus mit einem Langzeitspeicher auf Wasserstoffbasis kombiniert.

Im Sommer erzeugt ein Elektrolyseur Wasserstoff aus Leitungswasser, das im Winter mit einer Brennstoffzelle wieder rückverstromt werden kann.

Die vielen Fragen der Teilnehmer zeigten das große Interesse, das der neuen Technik entgegengebracht wird.

We recently welcomed Dr. Ojuola and Dr, Fawibe from Internatinal Energy Ltd. Lagos, together with Mr. Uwe Hassenkamp from EWIA Green Energy Nigeria Ltd., to discuss opportunities for green hydrogen in Nigeria and West Africa.

During their visit, we presented our Hydrogen Power Cube, a scalable solution for storing surplus renewable energy using green hydrogen. We discussed how hydrogen can help balance supply and demand by storing surplus solar and wind energy and making it available when needed. This approach offers a path to stabilizing West Africa’s energy supply and strengthening grid resilience across the region.

We also spoke about Africa’s potential to become a global leader in green hydrogen production, thanks to its abundant renewable resources.
