"Should we wait for dry molded fiber before investing?" π€
We've been hearing this more often lately. Our view: not necessarily.
Dry molded fiber (DMF) is gaining real attention, especially for lightweight rigid packaging. The technology is advancing quickly and opening up exciting possibilities.
At the same time, wet molded fiber remains the dominant process worldwide β supporting large-scale production of tableware, egg packaging, food trays, and industrial packaging.
These technologies aren't replacing each other. They're serving different needs. π§©
So if you're investing today, the question isn't "which technology will win?" β it's "which one fits my product, my volume, and my business model?"
For many applications, proven wet molding still offers the fastest path to production and ROI.
Packaging will keep evolving. The companies that succeed are the ones who understand where each process creates value. π±
π What are you seeing in your market β more interest in dry molded fiber, or is wet molding still driving decisions?
