ZETAS Thermal Power Group Visits Our Factory – Exploring Cartridge-Type Desulfurization Mechanical Seals

We were honored to welcome a delegation from Turkey's ZETAS Thermal Power Group to our factory for an in-depth evaluation of our cartridge-type desulfurization mechanical seals for thermal power plants.

During the visit, ZETAS experts toured our production lines and witnessed rigorous simulation tests under harsh FGD conditions. Their team was highly impressed by the performance of our mechanical seals for thermal power plants, especially in handling high temperature, abrasive slurry, and corrosive media.

The highlight was our cartridge-type design, which offers three key advantages:

1. Easy Installation – All components are pre-assembled, eliminating on-site measurements and adjustments. This reduces downtime and removes the risk of installation errors.

2. Reliable Performance – Premium materials like silicon carbide and tungsten carbide resist wear and corrosion, ensuring stable, leak-free operation even in the most demanding desulfurization environments.

3. Extended Equipment Life – Uniform face loading prevents uneven wear, protecting both the seal and pump shaft, lowering overall maintenance costs.

After thorough discussions, ZETAS expressed high satisfaction with our capabilities and reached a preliminary consensus on long-term strategic cooperation.

Silicon Carbide is a newer material. Its biggest feature? It's very, very hard. It's also corrosion resistant and conducts heat well, making it great for tough conditions. The most common pairing is Silicon Carbide against Silicon Carbide — two hard faces together, giving you low friction, great wear resistance, and long service life.

In this episode, we dive into carbon graphite — the most important soft face material in mechanical seals. It works as a soft, wear-resistant ring, commonly paired with tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, or ceramic. Soft against hard means less wear and longer life. Graphite works best in clean media like clean water and oil. To make it tougher, we use impregnation — resin (up to 250°C), metal (over 400°C), or furan resin (acid/base resistant).
