What are the key considerations for clear LED plastic parts injection molding?💁‍♂️

✅1. Material selection. Polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) are common materials for clear LED parts due to their clarity and heat resistance. The right grade needs to be selected based on dimensional, temperature, and UV stability requirements. Materials also need to be compatible with molding equipment like hot runners.

✅2. Mold design. Molds for clear parts should have a polished, non-textured surface finish to achieve transparency and limit surface defects. They also require generous radii and draft angles to facilitate easier ejection and minimize stresses. Vents, overflows, and cooling channels need to be strategically placed to avoid cosmetic blemishes.

✅3. Precise temperature control. Monitoring and controlling melt, mold, and material temperatures is critical for clear part molding.
