Adjustable Steel Props: Why Prices Vary So Much — And What You're Really Paying For? Cheap steel props look the same as quality ones — until they don't. Here are 5 factors that determine price and performance:
1. Wall Thickness Tolerance: Many suppliers default to negative tolerance. They quote 2.0mm — but deliver 1.8mm. Less steel = less strength = lower cost. We control deviation within ±0.1mm. You get exactly what you order.
2. Pre-Galvanized vs. Post-Weld Galvanized: Cheaper props use pre-galvanized tube. The zinc burns off at every weld. Rust starts within months. But we weld first, then galvanize. Every seam is fully protected.
3. Zinc Purity: Our alkaline zinc with ≥70% purity passes 72+ hours NSS testing and stays bright for years. Acidic zinc with low purity is less than 24 hours, tarnishes before the project is finished.
4. Full Pe*******on Welding: Many suppliers only weld the surface. It looks connected — but under heavy load, the joint cracks from the inside. We weld through the full thickness of the steel. The weld is stronger than the plate itself.
5. Components quality: Such as Grade 4.8 nuts cost half as much as Grade 8.8. They also strip and fail under heavy load. We use Grade 8.8 only. No exceptions.
Bottom line: a lower price usually means thinner walls, bare welds, cheap plating, and weak joints. Check our quality: [email protected] ; +86 17806112299(WhatsApp); https://www.sdjingfang.com/steel-props-forks/1988.html
