A. Product Added Value. Raymond Mill: Suitable for producing low-end building putty powder and power plant desulfurization powder. These products face intense price competition, have low profit margins, and rely on economies of scale.

Classifying Mill: Suitable for producing high-end paper fillers, plastic masterbatches, and powders for coatings and latex paints. These industries require D97 or even D50 specifications, and the powder produced by the classifying mill commands a higher premium.

B. Fineness and Consistency. If downstream customers (such as automotive paint or high-end film manufacturers) have extremely strict requirements for "coarse particle removal," Raymond mills often cannot meet the standards. Classifying mills ensure that 100% of the material passes the set fineness threshold, avoiding scratches or product defects.

C. Footprint and Automation. Classifying Mill: Compact structure, integrating grinding, classification, and conveying. Modern classifying mills mostly use PLC automatic control, allowing fineness to be changed via frequency conversion speed regulation without disassembly for adjustment. Raymond Mill: Typically occupies a larger area, and adjusting fineness (such as replacing fan blades or adjusting baffles) is relatively cumbersome.

D. Energy Efficiency. Low Fineness: When producing coarse powder below 325 mesh, Raymond mills have a more advantageous energy efficiency ratio. High Fineness: Once the fineness requirement exceeds 600 mesh, the circulation efficiency of Raymond mills is extremely low; in this case, the energy efficiency ratio (kWh/t) of classifying mills is actually lower.

E. Maintenance and Wear. Calcium carbonate (especially marble and calcite) causes significant wear on equipment. The internal wear-resistant linings (such as ceramic or high-hardness alloys) of a classifying mill are relatively easy to replace. The grinding rollers and grinding rings of a Raymond mill are heavy consumables; replacement frequency and labor intensity are key considerations for customers.
