This installation is set to dramatically reduce the brewery’s electricity costs through a combination of solar production and intelligent peak shaving — cutting grid dependence by approximately 70% while limiting grid draw to just 50kW during peak demand periods.

Resulting in estimated savings of over R200,000 through reduced energy consumption and demand charges, with an expected payback period of well under two years.

This project features a 125 kW Fox ESS BEAST (H3 Plus) inverter paired with 112 kW of battery storage (CQ16). Powering 26 apartments at 81 Rosmead with solar and backup energy, providing approximately 4 kW of backup per unit and FREE solar hot water! Currently running the entire building off-grid!

Following a lightning strike to the electricity pole, the BEAST enables them to run completely OFF GRID, supplying electricity to the residents with +208.9kWh of Fox HV BESS.

Summer Power Profits: Fox ESS 'BEAST' Export Strategy for Lower Winter Bills

Year of the BEAST: Day 48

Join Mark Becker as he checks in via the Fox Cloud App 2.0 to see the Fox ESS "BEAST" in action! This powerhouse system is transforming farm energy management in the Overberg by exporting surplus solar power back to the grid.

By putting double the amount of solar onto the system—up to 200 kW of solar on a single 100 kW inverter—this site generates massive power even late in the afternoon. The goal? Use that summer sun to build grid credits and drastically limit utility bills during the winter months.

In this video, Mark Becker shows us how the Fox Cloud 2 Mode Scheduler is used to bypass those extreme rates.
