UW Product | UW Wide-Format Laser Cleaning Machine for Cathode

The UW Wide-Format Laser Cleaning Machine for Cathode, independently developed by UW Laser, is a specialized electrode surface treatment equipment for the front-end processes of cell manufacturing. It conveys electrodes through continuous web feeding. The laser beam generated by the laser is emitted from the optical output port, and precisely acts on both sides of the specified coating area of the electrode. The active material is removed via high-temperature melting, combustion and vaporization. Meanwhile, an exhaust and dust removal system collects residues synchronously, finally exposing the internal metal conductive current collector to meet the cleanliness requirements for tab welding.

Supports multi-station collaborative operation, enabling laser cleaning on multiple coating areas of the electrode simultaneously. It breaks through the efficiency bottleneck of single-station systems and greatly increases output per unit time.

UW News | UW Laser Won the 2025 COS Science and Technology Innovation Award

On December 29, 2025, the Chinese Optical Society announced the 2025 Science and Technology Innovation Awards. UW Laser was honored with the Second Class Award in Technological Invention for its project titled "Key Technologies and Applications of High-Power Blue Laser Intelligent Manufacturing."

The award-winning project, "Key Technologies and Applications of High-Power Blue Laser Intelligent Manufacturing," is a major breakthrough independently developed by UW Laser. After four years of dedicated R&D, the technical team successfully developed a 450nm high-absorption blue laser, dual-wavelength high-speed hybrid welding technology, and sensing and control technology for high-temperature molten pools.

The company has launched multiple series of blue and red-blue hybrid lasers, as well as complete welding equipment, which are tailored to meet the manufacturing needs of new energy vehicle batteries.

The project's pioneering red-blue composite wavelength beam combining technology overcomes key bottlenecks in traditional laser welding. Its innovative beam combining and multi-module integrated control replace conventional single-wavelength solutions, enabling high-speed, high-quality welding of aluminum, copper, and other highly reflective metals.

In practical use, welding spatter and defects are significantly reduced, with speeds exceeding 300 mm/s and improved production efficiency. The hybrid blue-infrared technology increases laser absorption in copper from less than 5% to over 30%, achieving rapid full keyhole absorption for optimal laser utilization.

The technology is now successfully applied in critical power battery welding processes, including covers, sealing nails, terminals, and busbars, providing efficient and reliable solutions for new energy vehicle battery manufacturing.

UW Product | UW Fully Automatic Line for Low-voltage Relays

This line integrates the full processes of high-speed loading → modular assembly → in-line testing → packaging, and realizes core procedures including precision assembly of contacts/coils (with a positioning accuracy of ±0.05 mm), coil winding, contact riveting, plasma surface activation, dispensing and sealing, vacuum testing (replacing alcohol testing), as well as FD parameter testing.

The production line adopts six-axis industrial robots and machine vision systems, combined with MES system-enabled data traceability. It supports quick model changeover for relays such as JIS-12 and RT series; the single-line production capacity reaches 1,200 pieces per hour, with the defect rate stably controlled at ≤ 50 PPM, meeting the stringent standards of customers such as TE Connectivity and Omron in the fields of automotive electronics and smart home.

This production line integrates the full-process functions of high-voltage relay assembly, testing and packaging, supporting 38 processes including pallet laser marking, laser welding/riveting, moving contact/iron core assembly, air gap detection, contact cleaning, parameter measurement, ceramic-Kovar spot welding/full welding, helium leak detection & gas charging/discharging, magnet magnetizing & mounting, potting & pressing, as well as aging testing, realizing fully unmanned operation.

The production line comes standard with a CCD vision system and high-performance sensors, and supports MES data binding. Its production capacity covers a graded range of 500–800 pcs per hour (with the pre-research line reaching 800 pieces per hour). UW Product | UW Dual-station Relay Welding Bench

The dual-station relay welding bench independently developed by UW Laser is composed of fixtures, a 3-axis welding module, a coaxial rotary shielding gas blowing structure, dual loading and unloading shafts, a PLC control system, a laser welding system, and other components; it enables automatic welding with manual loading and unloading, and all units of the welding bench adopt a modular design and can operate independently; the welding head is configured with an external rotary coaxial gas blowing structure, with a maximum welding speed of 20 mm/s depending on the thickness of the workpiece; welding paths can be input via CNC programming or teaching mode, the automated welding program during the welding process is modifiable, and operation and modification permissions can be set; a 17-inch display is provided as standard.
