After the holiday, we’re back to work again — feeling refreshed and inspired.

In my hometown, autumn has fully arrived.
The air is soft, osmanthus flowers are blooming, and their scent travels far through the countryside.

🔧 Aluminum or Steel? Why Thickness Selection Is More Than Just Numbers

At first glance, it looks like a small detail. But in sheet metal design, a fraction of a millimeter can change everything:

Weight: aluminum can be almost 50% lighter than steel

Stiffness: steel bends less under the same load

Corrosion: aluminum naturally resists rust, while steel requires coating

This is why thickness selection is not a one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on your application, performance goals, and cost balance.

✨ One word, “Polishing”, can mean 3 very different things in manufacturing.

✅ Case 1: A client only wanted smooth edges. Instead of costly mirror polish, we applied bead blasting and small chamfers. Safe, effective, cost-saving.

✅ Case 2: Another client wanted a shiny look. After reviewing their design, we recommended a hairline finish — durable, premium, and fingerprint-resistant.

✅ Case 3: Engineers sometimes need strict Ra 0.8 or even 8K mirror finishes. These are achievable, but require multiple polishing steps and strict QC, which explains higher costs.
