When the client requested a custom 90° right-angle endoscope, we initially adopted traditional machining processes. However, the precision and appearance failed to meet expectations, leaving the client hesitant. What’s more, the client had concerns about 3D printing technology: worrying about the rough surface of printed parts affecting usage and fearing a significant increase in costs, they initially declined this innovative solution.
To live up to the client’s trust, we took the initiative to propose: 3D printing customization at the same price as traditional machining, with no additional charges! This sincerity and professional commitment finally convinced the client, and we embarked on a joint research journey.
Leveraging the forming advantages of 3D printing, we accurately met the client’s strict requirements for complex angles, ultimately creating an ultra-precise shell with a diameter of only 3.9mm and a wall thickness of 0.2mm. While the initial printed part was slightly rough, after professional polishing, the finished product became smooth, delicate, and durable—exceeding the client’s expectations completely!
