Folic acid is an essential vitamin for one-carbon metabolism and DNA biosynthesis, repair, and methylation of rapidly proliferating cells [1]. Folate is transported across membranes in three ways.
FRα acts as a signaling molecule to promote malignant tumor growth. Similar to other glycosylated phosphatidylinositol family proteins, FRα initiates an intracellular regulatory signaling network upon binding to folic acid.
Folate receptor alpha (FRα) is a potent anticancer drug target. It includes limited expression in non-malignant tissues, combined with overexpression in malignant tissues in some cancers, making FRα a potential target using multiple platforms such as antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), bispecific antibodies or chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells.

In the past two decades, the incidence of endometrial cancer (EC) has been increasing, which require molecular markers to predict prognosis and guide treatment. TCGA studies have shown that the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment methods can be improved by EC molecular typing. Since then, more and more studies have confirmed this view, and molecular typing has also been included in various authoritative guidelines and consensuses.

Recently, the research result Molecular classification grade 3 endometrial endometrioid carcinoma using a next-generation sequencing-based gene panel was published online in the international journal "Frontiers in Oncology" by the Department of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Molecular Pathology and Department of Pathology of Fujian Cancer Hospital.
