Can a silicon wafer bend under extreme load without cracking?

To find out, we put standard 120 μm wafers and LONGi's 140 μm TaiRay Wafers through a rigorous mechanical stress test at a loading speed of 60 mm/min.

Under identical test conditions, standard 120 μm wafers fracture under approximately 5 N of force, while LONGi's 140 μm TaiRay Wafers reach a breaking force of approximately 8 N.

That's a 60% increase in breaking force, demonstrating enhanced mechanical strength and helping reduce the risk of damage during transportation and installation.
